Always go to the Travellers Rest when we are in the Lake District. We always have a warm welcome from staff and the food is excellent. It is lovely and cosy as they have a couple of fires. The service is excellent, and they always ask how your food is, which is a good sign of attention to detail. Well done. Walkability: Can be reached easily if you have been to Grasmere or walking past after a walk. Nice to pop in for a drink and a spot of lunch on the way past. Food drinks: Excellent food choices and something for everyone. Lovely desserts, if you have room left to squeeze one in. There is also a varied range of drinks to suit all tastes and budgets.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Travellers Rest Inn. The room was clean and tidy with WiFi, TV and hot drinks. The meals were lovely and the staff very friendly. I would call back in just for the delicious steak and kidney pudding l had as my evening meal if ever passing but we both said we would definitely go back to stay again. Rooms: 5

The restaurant has beautiful rooms with lovely views. The food was delicious - I had the gnocchi and my partner had a large burger. We both enjoyed the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Honestly, it was the best meal we've had in a long time. We will definitely be returning. 5 stars from us.
This cozy, classic pub features charming open coal fires. The staff was warm, friendly, and attentive. My partner enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast with succulent roast beef, crispy roast potatoes, fluffy Yorkshire pudding, and fresh vegetables, all expertly prepared and beautifully presented. I opted for a mouth-watering cheeseburger with crispy bacon, chips, and a side salad. We highly recommend this establishment.

Friendly and accommodating, especially as we dropped in without a reservation and with two dogs. Lovely atmosphere with real fires and a great Sunday roast the veg in particular was well above the average and not a bad price. Will definitely return the next time we are in the lakes.
Been visit here for many many years of never forget. Friendly staff in a traditional surround. Great Sunday dinner. Best first miles around.
What a fantastic trip away. Gorgeous place to stay. Can't fault it. We stayed in a beautiful room with our dogs. Views were stunning of the fells. Food was delicious. Breakfast was great and we dined there 2 nights as we were so impressed. Brilliant location for exploring the Lakes. Service was wonderful. Brendan was very helpful. We will definitely be staying again!!
We had an evening meal here after a big days walk in the fells, and it was excellent! Good choice of ales, lovely menu and really tasty food. Welcoming staff and friendly ambience. Would recommend!
We stopped by for dinner because the hotel we were staying at couldn't accommodate gluten-free options. We both ordered the delicious lamb Henry with rice pudding for dessert. We enjoyed a few drinks and the staff took excellent care of us. This is exactly the kind of experience you want when visiting the lakes. We will definitely be returning next time we stay at the Travellers Rest.
