The cheese pizza was delicious! However, I cant say the same for the Garlic Bread. They tasted old, arrived really hard and cold. The presentation was not good either. I wont be ordering this appetizer again. I was disappointed. The Cheese 16 was DELICIOUS. View all feedback.
What Krissy M doesn't like about Bruno's Pizza Downtown:
Wasnt enough cheese per topping ratio lol. Some slices were perfect others not so perfect. They was very nice an went out of their wayto call me when I said no to certain items to make sure no one was allergic. That was really nice pizza is always A+ this time just was diff. View all feedback.
We had our wedding rehearsal dinner planned here for 6+ months. When we got there that night, we were told we had to split the room my mother-in-law spent a lot of time decorating. The service was HORRIBLE. We had one server and she did great, but for 50 people one server isn't going to do it. She was very overwhelmed and we felt awful for her. We waited hours for drinks and food. I told the kitchen to add whatever the quickest appetizer was on to our bill for 10 orders and it came out 45 minutes later. We had to pay for cases of beer because we needed something quick and they ran out of cups. It was absolutely awful. I will never recommend it to anyone. It would've helped to have a manager come in and help this poor girl or at least apologize to us for the inconvenience. We were extremely disappointed and definitely won't be back for even casual dining.
I was all ready to give Bruno's three stars because, really, it deserves three stars. But I just gave three stars to a place in my hometown (Whittier that also deserves three stars, and Bruno's is better than that place. By far--er, star. Bruno's was a last-minute replacement for Elia's for my and my friend Kathy's graduation dinner. It wasn't quite what I had expected, but it was also a little bit more, so that was nice. It feels kind of like a really old carnival. Not a rundown carnival, just a really old one. I love restaurants with atmospheres like this, so I guess I love Bruno's. The pizza is pretty good, but it's heavy. I often overeat, and it's usually not a pleasant experience, but there are those times in life when I'm prepared to have that feeling because I am that hungry or because I just want to eat that much or because I'm rewarding myself in some masochistic way. I did this at Bruno's--loosened my belt pre-meal and everything--and the post-dinner coma was about what I expected it to be. My experience here didn't quite cap off my time in South Bend or epitomize any one particular feeling or even provide an unforgettable memory, but it was good for what it was, and that's definitely a win in my book. (In case you haven't noticed, I tend to be disappointed quite regularly and hard.
Great pizza and atomosphere in South Bend...Love the pizza ovens right at the front door! The Prairie Street (original) location is the best.
There is no beating this pizza in the South Bend area end of story. We have tried so many places and tried to figure out what makes it for us I think it is the sauce and the cheese they use. Our fav is always the pepperoni and mushroom thin crust but if you like crust, just get their original and you won't be disappointed. It is thick though I prefer the thin just to get more of the topping taste than crust. We have tried 4 of their locations and all of them are wonderful. We were thrilled when they opened one just down the street from us in Osceola now our favorite is a mere 5 minutes away! Remember Bruno's does not take credit cards so if you are dining in or picking up carry out, be sure to bring your cash. And if you visit the Prairie Street location, be sure to tell Mama we said hello! Another word of warning while I LOVE Bruno's, we mostly get carry out so if you actually eat at the Prairie Street location, it is getting VERY run down and needs to be updated desperately. The ladies bathroom near the bar is frightening so try and use the one in the back or upstairs if you can.
Used to go here with family every time we got together... unfortunately, it has gone down hill the past couple of years and even though it's the closest to us, i wouldn't bring our family here at all. Needs some serious health cleaning issues and their bar is a joke. So sad to see this place fall apart.
