I recently tried the new brunch menu at this restaurant and I absolutely loved it. The food was so delicious that I ended up coming back twice in just two weeks. I recommend trying a little bit of everything because it's all worth it. The menu doesn't explicitly say that the items are small, but they are perfect for sharing and tasting a variety of dishes. I also recommend trying the ice cream horchata; it's absolute... View all feedback.

I based this review on my experience with takeout from this restaurant. I imagine dining in and experiencing the atmosphere would make the prices seem more reasonable. However, each entree I ordered was $21 and the "make it a meal" option only included a cup of rice and beans. The food had good flavor, but the portion sizes were lacking. (I ordered the chimichanga entree, the pork carnitas enchiladas entree, and adde... View all feedback.
The place has a nice atmosphere, but unfortunately the food looked better than it tasted. My husband ordered nachos, it was fun to eat with the cabbage and the pickled( carrots, the dressings were good too, but the meat and the cheese didn't taste really good, and they should be the hero of the meal. I ordered the chicken milanese (without garlic) and it was a bit bland in my opinion. I guess fried chicken sandwich is not really a classic mexican food, but the chicken and cheese were pretty tasteless and the beans needed more flavor too. There was like 1 slice of tomato in the whole sandwich. There was a tiny amount of arugula salad (or something similar) next to the sandwich which actually tasted way better than the sandwich itself, a bit more would have been nice. After reading all the good reviews, I start to think that we just didn't order the best items from the menu...?
Unlimited brunch was great, very reasonable price for the amount of food we got and the quality of the dishes! the shrimp tacos were absolutely incredible I will definitely be coming back
The Painted Burro is pretty much unbeatable. You like Mexican and South American food? You’re set here. I’ve been for brunch (the cold brew horchata combo is a favorite) and dinner multiple times and this place has never missed. Combined with lovely service, a cool interior, and reasonable (for Somerville) prices, they never miss!
The first time here! love the idea of a groundless brunch. eating was usually really good, especially the tacos (love them the mais dish, and the tortas, with taking out a few directed: I thought the kartoffels were a bit dry and the muffin for the eier benedict was too hard (we couldn't really cut it with a knife.) they get 90 mins only, but honestly, the eating is full and the service is fast, so60 we were done within. amazing horchata ice cream
We were told by people who left the restaurant to try the fish tacos. we and they were excellent. we have the side order of dren and tears. two tacos were a lot. isabel was an excellent waitress and we had a great time and cannot wait to go back.
