Wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner. Great food but it was the service that made the place exceptional. They were very busy but food was prompt and Dianna was incredibly warm and welcoming. Highly recommend. View all feedback.
What Susan R doesn't like about Appalachia Kitchen:
We were told by locals that this is the best restaurant. We had the raw tuna salad, we had some fishy tasting tuna. We had the scallops for dinner. They were okay+. Would I go back again? Not certain. For sure, I would not order seafood. Perhaps I would order land food like steak, chicken, pork, etc. The creme brule was very nice. The Peppermint Patty hot drink wonderful. I gave it a 3.0 but would have rated it 3.5 b... View all feedback.
Was very impressed, especially after reading some of the negative reviews!! I don't think I'd ever order seafood in the mountains as mentioned in other reviews, but the trout pate (locally sourced) tasted incredibly fresh. We also got the Caesar salad which was a REAL Caesar!! It came topped with anchovies and you could taste it in the dressing it was perfect. We got the sausage special which had really well balanced flavors as well as the venison meatloaf. The meatloaf had a huge portion, a little bland, but still very good. The Creme Brulee was FANTASTIC the sugar was perfectly torched, not overly burnt like you usually run into. Our server, Daniel was super friendly and personable we had an amazing time here!
Best kitchen on the mountain. Menu is great with everything from locally sourced rainbow trout to venison meatloaf to scallops.

After a day of snowboarding we decided to try this restaurant. Very impressed!! Great fine food and a huge selection of wine. Service was great.
Ate there last night an it was amazing. First off the service was first class the waitress was very knowledgeable, graceful and a all around sweetheart, for an appetizer we order the trout bites... They were delicious then I had what she recommend the Joyce farms chicken an my lady had the shrimp an grits, to say the least we were very satisfied. Then to top the evening off I had the chocolate markee for dessert it was to die for. For anyone coming to snowshoe I highly recommend Appalachia kitchen, amazing food, amazing people and a atmosphere which is unlike anywhere I've been.... Thank u
