Helen's Hot Chicken - Smyrna

I absolutely love this place! Every time I order I get my food and it's supposed to be ready, and the quality is unbelievable. I highly recommend!

Went to Helen's tonight to get my favorite. The mild catfish and fried okra as always they knocked it out of the park. Way to go Josh always working hard to make people happy. The think about Josh is he listens. If you have a complaint he wants to know what it is. He wants his business to be the best!

I now remember why I don't order from Helens. You only get one side and a drink. But you either don't get the side, don't get the drink or get neither. This time neither. Guess y'all don't have drivers order original delivery estimate, 8:10-8:20. Delayed to 8:34-8:44, then 9:02-9:12. Showed up at 9:16. Cold, so leftovers... Kind of defeats the purpose. Okay, between grub hub and door dash I'm convinced. I'll just cook or eat leftovers from now on. Sad...

When we came we met the owner, Joshua. He was so courteous and patient, giving us detailed descriptions of the menu items as well as the spice levels. While the food did take a while to come out (30+ minutes), it was well worth it. Everything was cooked fresh and to perfection. The chicken was so juicy and crispy and the French fries were perfectly seasoned. The food is definitely worth trying, and I would recommend ordering ahead to avoid the long wait.

Food was good but for me fried a little too hard (chicken tenders). My husband said the heat was perfect for him. We both loved the fries.Bathrooms were not clean: smell and roaches. Which makes me concerned for the kitchen.Due to everything being freshly made to order, and limited volume, be prepared for longer cook times.With a few changes this place would land a 4.5. Service was good as was decor!
