Oh my! The owners welcomed me as if an old family friend being welcomed home! Always curious and calling me by name on my first visit. This place is bring Smithville to life with the fire pit, live performances and tons of seating. Do yourself a favor and check it out on a Friday night! View all feedback.
What Jeff Selby doesn't like about Rio Social House And Cafe:
When this place first opened, it was fun. In the last few months, the hours posted are NOT reliable. Tonight went there. The inside tables dirty, not cleaned from previous customers. Sound system too loud for loud for such small interior. Missing a few ingredients for a few mixed drinks. House red wine was spoiled. Smelled bad and tasted worse. Come on folks! This place has such great potential! I think I'll call Jon... View all feedback.

I definitely love this place. Service is usually great, but the other day I was a little taken aback by some rudeness from the staff. We’d ordered a bunch of food and I tipped over 25% on it, which is pretty generous for counter service. I brought our food to our table then went back for a Topo Chico. I paid in cash and told the server she could keep the change. She said huffily, “that’s only 29 cents.” I gave her more money, but was overall not pleased. Considering all she did was hand me a bottle that I opened myself, I’m not sure a bigger tip was warranted, especially after the substantial tip I’d just given them on food. I dunno I’ve worked counter service, fine dining, food delivery, and customer service for ages. Once I called a customer out for tipping me 51 cents on a $61 table service tab. But I think complaining to a customer about the size of the tip for a bottle of sparkling water is rude and inappropriate.Besides that, I love Rio. I spend time there pretty regularly. Very sweet place.
Rio was amazing ! We just left the place and it was great. We took our 7 year old and 2 year old for some ice cream. While my husband and I had a micheladas and hurricanes made by Sadie. We stayed there for about an hour and a half while we played Jenga. The whole look and decor is absolutely beautiful. Sadie made our whole experience the best she is amazing . We will most definitely be coming back to this place
Super adorable cafe/bar, Carrie the owner is THE BEST! Super sweet, always very accommodating and hospitable. Everyone there is very kind and very helpful, great customer service! The cafe gives you a swanky bar while still keeping the small town feel. The cocktails are really good and creative and their beer list and wine list is well curated too! No “Liberty Creek Cab” here, thank goodness! They also serve daily specials, delicious pies, and have a great selection of non-alcoholic beverages too. From topo Chico to cinnamon flavored iced tea. It’s a great spot to spend the afternoon and they even put on fun events like “paint your pet” class and always include the Smithville community.
