What Scott Lawrence doesn't like about The Krebs:
I ordered the pork chop which was excellent, but my wife ordered the steak cooked medium well. Unfortunately, it had to be sent back twice and even when it came out the second time, it still had blood running out of it. This was my first time paying $58 for a steak and ended up having to cook it myself at home. We were celebrating our anniversary, so it would have been nice if the food didn't need to be continuously... View all feedback.
Staff were friendly, food was good. The interior is dark, and curtains were nearly closed. Walls are a dark color, as is the ceiling and the floor. A bit oppressive rather than cozy and warm. The bread choices were delicious- cheddar chive corn muffins and onion focaccia bread. I started off with a cocktail called The Belmont. It's a bourbon drink. It was my favorite part of the meal! For my entree, I ordered the blackened salmon. The veggie purée and the zucchini ribbons were delicious. The salmon was a good size portion and the flavor was wonderful but it was dry. I had to cut it with a knife, rather than simply use my fork. For dessert, I ordered the poached pear. Atypical for me, but they were out of cheesecake, which always calls my name. The pear and accompanying sides were all delicious. Overall a good meal, not spectacular. Staff were great, attentive and friendly, not obtrusive.
Went to Krebs for Easter brunch today. The decor, design, and appearance of the Krebs is very classy and without a stuffy feeling. It's an enjoyably setting. Despite the fantastic ambiance, the service is just ok and they still lack in some very important to detail items. The service staff is mostly made of of 20 year old kids, despite their age they do an ok job. They lack the experience and knowledge you would expect here. First question was regarding a menu item and the 20 something old waiter had no clue about the menu item.......My eggs benedict came out cold, I had to ask them to remove dirty dishes, and 1-2 times I was looking for the waiter to order another drink. The food is ok. And when I mean ok, you can get the same exact dish anywhere. If you have not tried it, I would suggest to do so, but also don't go into the Krebs expecting the best meal you've ever had. It's fine. But prices are high for the end result. It's convenient for the people who live in Skaneateles, but I don't see myself driving another 30 minutes anytime soon for a meal at Krebs.

The Krebs is a beautiful establishment, from the decor to the food to the staff. We had a 6:30 reservation for 7 people- and we didn't leave until after 9:30. We did feel that the bar and kitchen were a bit behind which was odd as the dining room was near empty when we arrived. Our drink order of 3 wines, 2 beers and one cocktail took around 15 minutes to get. Our server was very attentive and kept checking in- but again with the limited tables sat we did find the wait odd. We then ordered oysters and several salads- the Caesar wedge was interesting it did have a miracle whip taste to the dressing which we found a little off putting. Once the food started coming, it came at a good pace after that. And oddly enough that's when the restaurant started filling up. Everyone enjoyed their dinners- they were all fresh, warm and balanced flavors. Again our waiter was very nice and attentive throughout dinner. My table did get a few desserts which they all raved about- I opted for a latte which was a great way to end the night. Getting the check and checking out seemed to take a while again, but maybe we were all just ready and full! Overall a great meal and experience.
Amanda and Michael were phenomenal!! Their service was unmatched. This was my first time at the Krebs, and I couldn’t be more pleased. Will definitely be returning in the near future!
