nice dining and decent rooms in a really beautifully designed hotel. we found the service great, but the quality of the beds and bath to be a little cheap feeling. nevertheless, recommend to travel as a good place. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Icelandair Klaustur’s:
the hotel is a bit older, but beautiful. Nevertheless, I only give 3 stars because the pictures make the view that the pool area (pool whirlpools) belong directly to the hotel, which is not the case. Instead, this area belongs to the sports center close to the hotel, which is completely separated from the hotel and therefore costs extra. I think this is not properly advertised. the room was very clean, the breakfast... View all feedback.
The rooms are quite economical. the hotel smells recently renovated and has a fragrance that is clear. while the rooms are a decent size, the furniture is quite low quality that does not work half of our lighter, and there were USB slots that also does not work. everything else is in order, but the hotel lacks only a considerable charm. more beautiful place to stay if they need a bed.
Great hotel. Rooms have great beds. The building is in good shape. Some bedrooms had bathtubs while others had a walk in shower that was very cramped. It was a challenge to wash yourself in it. The bathtubs, the water to fill it ran so slow, it took over 45 minutes to fill it. The soaps here are the best! The restaurant in the hotel had some of the best food we had on our trip around Iceland. We had the filet and the pasta with tiger prawns. The pasta was very spicy but not too bad you’d send it back for. The filets were perfect. Tender and had a great sauce to compliment it. I strongly recommend staying and dining here! Tesla charging stations on site as well!
I'll tell you about a very delicious dinner we've had in the indescribable village of kirkjubaejarklaustur. this city was our base of operations to explore the southern island of Icelandia. We stayed two nights at the Klaustur Ice Hotel. the first night we decided to dine at the hotel restaurant, which besides having a good reputation, turned out to be the most expensive of all the trip to Icelandia. and we did not ask too much. to start the agape, we asked for an oca snack that served half macerated and the other medium smoked. was accompanied by a dried tomato sauce, which is very typical of Icelandia, and with aranberry sauce. I ordered an arctic trout that was going to suck so fingers and whose garrison was boiled potatoes, mantons, chopped vegetables and a pumpkin sauce. vero was ordered by a white fish, I think it was merluza, accompanied by a puré, the dried tomato sauce and more cooked verduritas. dessert we order a chocolate brownie in the cranberry bed and a vanilla ice cream. drinking, I think we order one of my beers in the world. the seagull, if I don't miss the memory. the result of all this was a delicious, light, but unfortunately very expensive dinner. the next day we were less tired, we went from the hotel and went to a kirkjubaejarklaustur burger shop. that was a real party, and at the top surrounded by pure Icelanders.
