Tonight, we had a great experience and requested some vegan rolls, which they were more than happy to prepare for us. The sweet potato roll was, without a doubt, the best vegan sushi I’ve had since going vegan! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Oshima Sushi:
We were told to expect a 20-minute wait, but ended up waiting 45 minutes. The veggie tempura and alashi tofu were overly greasy and lacked flavor. The veggie sushi roll was decent, but nothing impressive aside from its presentation. Best Vegan sushi options in town. Staff are VERY familiar with vegan options and will let you know if anything shares a fryer. I’d highly recommend the sweet potato sushi option. Mention that you are vegan so they can let you know what to get and if you need to be aware of anything. They are super affordable especially when they have deals going on!!
Miso soup was good. The sushi rolls lacked some pizzazz. I have cucumber and avocado rolls. Edamame was bland.
It took 45 minutes when we said 20. Veggie tempura and alterashi tofu were dripping with fat, no taste. Veggie Sushi Roll was ok, nothing unusual outside the presentation. Husbands sushi was either deep fried or covered with Bbq sauce. Everything shattered together, almost unrecognizable. Hot foods full of cold. I hope that's not the standard. Dogs seem to enjoy.
Tonight we called and asked for some vegan roles and they were happy to accommodate. The sweet potato roll was by far the best vegan sushi I've made since vegan!
