Wow! Bean Town has a whole new look out front. Someone drove thru the window, hence the renovation! Delicious lemon tart and other scrumptious pastries. Glad this Sierra Madre landmark has survived hope it keeps the old coffeehouse culture charm. Will be back to support! View all feedback.
What Sam Z doesn't like about Bean Town:
This coffee shop has a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff, but the air conditioning is really terrible! It was 103 degrees outside and the owner was only using some useless fans inside. View all feedback.
Beantown has a consistent group of great cooks and barristas. Open early I have the healthiest options I can hope for on my commute to work. Their veggie scramble is my fave.
This is really good coffee shop and has a good quality to offer. freshly baked, which fits very well for favorite coffee. good service.
Went here the other day for lunch with my wife. Beautiful location up in the foothills of Sierra Madre. Very small town America just 3 miles North of the 210 and you feel like you're in a different world in so many ways. nice contemporary vibe inside but not packed like a Starbucks. The staple is coffee but also have a great food menu and lots of yummy baked goods. Most of their items on the menu to eat are $12.95 which is great so you don't have to decide one way or another based on price. My wife had the hamburger which was small but looked spot on. I had the caprese sandwich which was A+ and better than expected. What a delicious choice for a vegetarian. We sat outside under an umbrella on a rare 88 degree March day. The food was a little slow (maybe 20 minutes) but they brought it out to our table with a smile and friendly attitude. They also offer complimentary water which comes in a nice cup with a lid. I love water; along with not having to pay $2-$4 for some bottled drink I don't even want. Highly recommend! Excellent location. If you can't find parking, just drive up Baldwin a little into the residential area, plenty of parking there.
Good coffee and baked, but what happened to the welcoming atmosphere? Previously, they had comfortable furniture and an extremely talented jazz singer, who lived in the cool, eclectic mood. now there are only stiff tables and chairs and echo silent. it has as much appeal as an office space. please bring back the character that once had the film screens (and the rest of us) on the look for this place.
Bean town is the quintessential small town coffee shop. friendly, welcoming with great food and great coffee.
