This is my second time at Raisu, we tried out the Omakases this time and it was pretty disappointing. 7 out of the 15 courses were all just different variety of salmons and tuna (including the handroll). A few other courses were Eel, hamachi, all of these nigiri were all in the cheaper price point. When you're talking about sushi, what you're really talking is freshness and craft. How fresh is the salmon on top of the roll? Is the roll falling apart in your soy sauce? What's with that avocado? If you want well-made rolls that are as fresh as can be, look no further than Raisu. Just four blocks from my house, this is an easy place to keep coming back to, with quality first and foremost, and knowledgable staff. Why not 5 stars? First time at the restaurant very warm place the foods, services and get to meet the owner Simon very sweet person. Wonderful place to go with friends or family especially if you don't know where to take your girlfriend on first anniversary this will be the place. I know because my boyfriend pick this place.
I’ve always loved Kaizan, but this is my new favorite spot for sushi. Phenomenal quality of fish and great atmosphere. Will be back!
