There has been a curry house here for as long as I can remember but this was my first visit. Shoe horned into a very old house you can guess that it the layout inside will be on an adhoc basis and cosy. I guess it can be a problem at times but we were happy with our table and the atmosphere. The menu is a rather standard fare with only a few interesting dishes that our waiter struggled to explain. View all feedback.
What Oakly56 doesn't like about Himilaya Tandoori:
Seldom do we visit Himalaya so we should visit more. The menu is not that large really with some nice chefs recomendations. The girls both had a mixed Tandoori grill which comes with a salad and nan bread(The nan breads here are good)My Bhuna was just how i like it with a rich thick sauce. The poppodoms come with a good mix of chutneys mint and onion salad but they charge you £3.50 for those to accompany the poppodoms w... Thought we would try this curry house after visiting Bridgnorth on 1940s weekend. Used to visit 35 years ago. Ordered popadoms to start. These were crispy , however had to pay extra for the sauces. The mango chutney was tasteless, the onion was thick and chunky prefer small chopped onion The yogurt dip was revolting. Tasteless and had numerous different hairs in it , evidently from different people! From black to short blonde to long blonde to ginger yuk! This sauce must been used time after time and recycled to the next customer. Very disappointed and you should be absolutely ashamed to serve recycled food. The chicken curry contained MSG This kept me awake all night. The nan was tasty Overall disappointed
Excellent food. Was one of the only places open for food in Bridgnorth on a Sunday night. Hadn’t intended to have a curry but we were pleased we did. Food lovely (Biriyani and Chicken Kashmiri) reasonably priced and staff friendly. Would go again!
David is rightly proud of his Prawn on Puree starter. It was superb. Lovely restaurant, clearly very popular with its regulars.
I wasn’t going here but the aroma in the street made me look at the menu in the window. 2 poppadoms and a very fresh chutney tray, the most tender best lamb tikka starter I have ever tasted and a Tandoori Biriani with a lovely vegetable curry. I decided to have a man and again it was so fresh, light crispy and fluffy, I haven’t one as good as this before. All washed down with a cold Cobra I couldn’t finish the meal no surprise but it was so tasty and fresh will 100% call again.
Had chicken tikka madras. Was full of fatty leg meat. I expected breast meat if I was honest. Pretty poor not keen on leg meat
