This restaurant is located inside the lane opposite to government college on B.H road. The interior walls and ceiling are done with wooden panels and looks very appealing. It's a vintage restaurant but the ambience is really nice. Very well renovated. Going by the reviews...More View all feedback.

wing an this place after reading the great reviews. filz extremely disappointed. the masala dosa was oily and cold. the paddu was oily and the chutney had no flavor and no taste. for breakfast there are better restaurants in Shimoga. the hype will only bring disappointment. saving gnade is its high glass of hot tee / cofee. I write other cards. View all feedback.

One of the oldest hotel of Shivamogga Still maintaining that authentic taste Worth visiting They only accept Cash or Card and no Online payment
Visited it after seeing the rave reviews in Google. And must say, it is deserved. We ordered Masala Dosa, Mysore Bun, and what I thought would be poha. The masala dosa was excellent slightly different from the regular masala dosas you get absolutely everywhere. This dosa is thicker, fluffier, and has a really good taste of its own. Even the 'masala ' potato curry was actually so good, unlike the pasty and bland stuff yoou get otherwise. It 's just the 'poha ' that I personally was disappointed with as it was not poha, but the sweet aval that came. It was totally not what I wanted for breakfast, so I could not eat even a single spoon of it. Otherwise, it was actually good on its own. This bad choice was because the staff in the restaurant do not know English or Hindi. As a result, there was communication problem, and anyone who doesn 't know Kannada may face this issue in knowing what to order, as they did not provide any menu either. So, if you 're an outisider, stick to the regular dishes you are aware of, such as Dosas and Idly. The tea was also really good.
Famous old hotel …! A must visit hotel in shivmogga for breakfast. Masala dosa was too good and crispy, a finger licking taste. U must try every item like idli, open dose, mandakki, paddu, end up with coffee.
If you're looking for a slice of history and a taste of authentic South Indian Dish in Shivamogga, then look no further than the oldest hotel in town. This charming establishment exudes old-world charm and provides a glimpse into a bygone era. The hotel has retained much of its original character, and the decor is a mix of vintage and contemporary styles. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and always ready to assist with any request. The star of the show, however, is undoubtedly the food. The Masala Dose is, without a doubt, the best I've tasted in a long time. It is crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and filled with a spicy and flavorful potato mixture. The chutneys and sambar served alongside are the perfect accompaniment, and I found myself unable to resist a second serving. Equally impressive was the Paddu, which is a lesser-known dish but equally delicious. These bite-sized dumplings are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a delectable blend of spices and vegetables. I could have easily made a meal out of these alone. Overall, the oldest hotel in town is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience a slice of history and enjoy some truly outstanding South Indian Food. The Masala Dose and Paddu are not to be missed, and I can't wait to return and try some of the other dishes on the menu.
