What User doesn't like about St. James Gate:
It is part of the Shediac hotel. We went with a large group for pre-ordered meals. The food arrived cold, looked like a prison cook had placed it on the plates. The service staff was not well trained. Sadly a bad experience View all feedback.
Half the city was closed down after the snow storm, but we walked over to this quaint restaurant from our hotel and were immediately intrigued with the place. The service was superb. They customized a drink for me and did a great job with it. The appetizers were very well presented and tasteful. The main course exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend this place!
What a fantastic last night on vacation! The drinks were excellent. Oysters fresh! Haddock and risotto was delicious. Others at my table had seafood risotto, seafood chowder, fish tacos and spinach dip. Everything we had was amazing. We were so happy we found this spot.
I love the atmosphere of this place. Smoky without the smoke. Books like the walls... lamps are turned on low... funky music filtering in... I ordered the lobster
Went for food and drinks on a Friday night after a show at Capitol Theatre.Sat for a half hour outside at a table, saw one waitress cleaning a table off and then she was gone.Went inside at desk in hallway and not one employee to be found. on a Friday night at 9:30 PM We left,no service at all!
I've been here many times and would have said this was at least a 4-star... but my last trip was terrible! I do NOT complain about food but on this occasion the fish was so dry that it, quite literally, could not be eaten. The best they would do was take 15% off my tab... and I had guests with me. It will be a while before I take anyone there with me again. They will have to earn my trust first...
