Le Chenapan - Shawinigan

Traveling through Shawinigan, we were looking for a pub to grab a quality beer and a meal in the afternoon. The first thought was the Trou du Diable pub because of its reputation, but we tried something else hoping to catch a smaller place with a more original menu. And WHAT A SURPRISE! The menu was so amazing we wanted to get everything on it. I settled for the Beef Tartare and my friend went for the Maple Trout Poke Bowl. Aie aie aie! You know that feeling when you are bouncing of joy, on your chair, because of an amazing gastronomical experience? We we both so happy! Add to that, the highly superior service by one of the owner who took time to detail all the additional love that was included in every dish, a taster of their recommended drink and just mere joy to share a moment altogether, this place is an instant coup-de-coeur, and I will not miss it anytime I ride by Shawinigan from Quebec to Montreal or back. It 's not just the amazing food or drinks that make this place worth the detour, it 's the music, the mood, the we 're all friends here mood and the actual care, from every employee, that made this a memorable moment, worth writing a review for...because no I don 't often write reviews, but those people took extra care of us, and they deserve some of my time as well, as a thank you for they amazingness. Chenapans, I hope to see you soon. Till then, you guys go and try it out.

Glad to see a Bistro like this in Shawi. Me and my buddies grew up in the region, but left years ago and got pleasantly surprised by the food and ambiance offered at Le Chenapan. We shared a massive Nachos that stuffed us even before receiving our mains We were all happy with the beef burger, farfalles and chicken burger we got. Good selection of 10 beers from the province. On va revenir!

Nice bistro pub in Shawinigan. Good food and large selection of local beers. The small kitchen, with one electric stove, reminds me of L'Affaire est Ketchup in Quebec City but the food is not yet as adventurous.

The food was excellent and the service was great! Must try if you visit Shawinigan!

While on vacation in Quebec, we had a meal in this restaurant. Happy with our choice!Restaurant which reconciles us with poutine which we do not love in our hearts, but which is delicious! Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo of it. For me cetais MC and cheese, with maple syrup bacon, also very good.A big thank-you . Top team. ?
