Choopan Grill - Selden

I visited this restaurant a few times a year since they opened, and I was never disappointed once. The food is always well prepared and fresh, beautifully seasoned and served in generous portions. The quality is exceptional, everything is delicious. It is a very modest restaurant, but expect nothing very imagination, it will probably not even play music. It can be collected a family or two for dinner with different relatives and children, especially if it is a Muslim holiday. That's all you need. The waiting staff is minimal, but very friendly and welcoming, they are absolutely on their game and make you feel at home. This is one of my most popular restaurants on LI, and I am always looking forward to visiting possibilities.

Okay, food. It used to be good when Rafi was here. Most of them are dry. I liked her HOT wings, but they were really hot. New renovations gave a new view of the restaurant

This restaurant is the real offer, authentic, its fully owned by an American/Afghani immigrant family. The atmosphere is relaxed, not dressed, the location is in a small shopping center. It may not look from the first look, but here you will find the best Afghani food in New York. Everything we ate was amazing on every occasion.

This is hands down the BEST Afghan food I have ever had! Absolutely scrumptious to the last bite. Every piece of meat was done to perfection and it had no smell of rawness whatsoever. The kebabs were juicy, flavorful, soft and they all melted in your mouth. The rice is probably the best Afghan rice I have ever had…ANYWHERE. Ingredients were fresh and everything was well served and presented. I hope more people come visit this gem of an establishment so that they can keep running. I would hate to see them close due to covid.
