Short walk from the Sheraton. Nice Italian restaurant the calamari was lightly breaded and the bruschetta was delish. The entrees were fine, flavorful but not the best we’ve ever had. The atmosphere was very nice. Waiter was okay, he seemed like we were a bother, not hugely attentive. View all feedback.
What Russell Strada doesn't like about Assaggio Ristorante:
Food across the board was poorly executed. Bread was stale, clams had excessive grit/sand and pastas were over sauced. Veal saltimbocca was tough, gluey, and had no hint of sage; rubbery meatballs. Server was officious, and seemed burdened to wait our table of five. Tourists seemed to be enjoying their meals however (perhaps the wine was flowing) but unless this was a significant off night for the kitchen, I would re... View all feedback.
The best Italian food I had since our honeymoon in Rome! Little table, the staff rushed because they were busy, but it doesn't matter. The food is so good that everything bad will melt every memory of a small table all due to this delicious place. Get the Risotto on a cold day and thank me later. Fantastico.
Fantastic classic Italian restaurant in downtown. Food is wonderful, especially the Penne Vodka. I also enjoy having some unusual items on the menu like Fusili with sourcing, currants and saffron cream, all excellent. The atmosphere is warm, with many fresco style paintings on the walls and the ceiling. Service is also great, and the boss, Mauro, is super friendly, makes you always welcome and appreciated. Very recommend to get reservations when you visit the weekend.
That was such a great experience of the minute we went to the minute. While we were waiting for our table, a few said we were for a contract and that they were eating there weekly so we knew we had a good choice. We have a great seat in the window. EJ was our experienced server that made more fun with his joke and charm. We ordered the Arancini bread. We both had to try a pasta dish as it is made in the house. We had cappuccinos after dinner to finish the festival. Delicious, authentic Italian cuisine if you are looking for a nice dinner in the city.
Just...amazing! Such a fun environment! The food was amazing, the portion sizes were plentiful, the presentation was impressive! The service was incredible. Or server was so funny and knowledgeable, but as I observed, all other servers also made people laugh. It seems that the service is about 10/10. Very recommended, I went with my fiancée, but that could be a romantic 1 in 1 place, or a fun group setting! Make a reservation, this place is popular, but they were very accommodating to me as I had no one. We have an appetizer, two ducks, two cocktails, a dessert and a coffee total, after taxes, was $110 before the tip. In my opinion, it was absolutely worth the entire experience. Again..the quality of food was fantastic
Assaggio is an outstanding and authentic Italian restaurant serving excellently prepared food with great service that matches the festive atmosphere within. The owner, Mauro, seems to visit with everyone that comes here. This place is the real deal. You can’t go wrong. Pricey? Maybe, but wow, this place is great. Highly recommended.
