We went there for the pizza as it was recommended and we were in the mood for good Sicilian pizza. There were four of us and we ordered four different pizzas. They came out a full hour after ordering (we were the first people in the restaurant). In each case, the ingredients were OK, and the sauce was OK, but the pizzas themselves were all poorly prepared. We had had a long day of sightseeing so we were extremely happy to find this local family run pizzeria near our B&B. There was a steady stream of local customers both to dine in and take out. As soon as we walked in we had a good feeling about the welcoming feeling. Lots of animated conversations with patrons of all ages. There was a crucifix near the cash register, but a ‘girlie’ calendar near the ovens. The place definitely had character! They offer a good selection of pizzas and had nice cold beer. It was a perfect ending to a long day. They do take credit cards, just not American Express! Best to confirm before you order.
2 nights before to go there for valentines day, my boyfriends mom brought some pizza from here for us and its was really good!! But sadly, our experiance was different. We took one valentines menu (25e) and a pizza. We shared everything. So about the menu started was pretty simple but really good, a little bit of everything. Then it was time for antipasti 2 kinds of pasta. Once again it was pretty simple but good, a bit sad that it was super obvious that its barilla pasta from the box but let it be, because the sauces were good. Then it was time for the main dosh from the valentines menu and pizza. So in the dish there was a medium bigger size shrimp, a piece of one kind of fish and a role of maybe octopus with some bread crumbs. It tasted nice but the visualisation was poor. But the pizza... I love bufala, i always take it in sicily because i cant find a good one in my country. It was so so bad... the half that was pizza “italia” was not super bad but the one with bufala... tomatoes like sand, bufala zero juicyness, strange taste. Altho i really liked the pastry and the crust of the pizza but the toppings were bad bad bad. Then from the menu there were 2 deserts left. Oranges with honey and almonds super sad, better to not give them at all or just give oranges alone maybe because looks like they tried to do smth that didnt work, the second desert wild berries cake SUPER GOOD. Tasted a bit like ice cream cake but i loved it. Home wine was good and included in the menu as well as a coffee and watter
It appear that the cook took a handful of each recipe ingredient and slopped each on in succession, so there was a pile of ingredients in the middle and nothing around the edges. It looked like someone was in a very big hurry, or just didn't know how to make a good pizza. We wouldn't go back, I'm afraid.
E' la seconda volta che mangio. Tornero' finche' non respiro.
