It is great to have a destination when hicking and Gindelalm is a great destination for short hicking trips. We came from Schliersee and had two 4-year-old boys who made it (with some help by two strong men) to the top as well. They serve typical food for a hut in the mountains - sausages, Kaiserschmarn and alike. For me the quality was not that good, but was also not what I was awaiting. They have a small playground... What User doesn't like about Gindelalm:
You could excuse yourself that there is no card payment in a German restaurant. This was the case years ago, but in your way stay stuck during a global pandemic and STILL do not offer your paying guests the opportunity to pay contactless with card... is pretty careless. I'm disappointed by you, Fam. Kopfrl. LTE reception is super at the top of the hill, so excuse does not even fly in 2020. View all feedback.

Phenomenal views, the sound of cow-bells and great traditional Bavarian food await you. Friendly service and attractive prices make this one not to miss.
It is great to have a goal when hicking and gindelalm is a great destination for short hicking trips. We came from Schliersee and had two 4-year-old guys who made it up (with some help from two strong men). They serve... typical food for a cottage in the mountains sausage, Kaiserschmarn and similar. For me quality was not so good, but also not what I expected. You have a small playground for the children.

We stopped on our 7-hour hike at Gindelalm 2, hungry and exhausted. While the location and the view significantly improved our rest, the food was only moderate. The bread was more like an average shop bought bread and even the simplest soups tasted...not self-made (but Knorr or Maggi soup base). We were a little disappointed as the situation could be so great if it had a proper, simple but tasty menu. It does not need twenty dishes (as it is currently), but only a few properly executed with high-quality local products (which definitely exists in this region)...
