our first time here was yesterday to celebrate the Father's Day and we would definitely go back. What Myrtice Goldner doesn't like about Blackwood Bbq:
Food portions were pathetic. Took my out of town guests here before going to the airport. The sauces were watery and vinegary. No sauce was usable on our food. The only thing I liked was the Blackwood ? beer! Ioh well my grandson did like the ice cream bar, ??but I’m sorry that I won’t be going back!! Only for the ? View all feedback.
Wow, this California girl has tried BBQ all over, including plenty in Texas. I have to say, I've never had such delicious buns before! We tried the Brisket sandwich and the Alabama chicken sandwich. I had no idea what Alabama flavors would be like, but I was blown away by how tasty it was. The chicken had a perfect crust that was both sweet and spicy. The Alabama sauce had a unique taste that reminded me of Panera Bread's green goddess dressing, but with a twist. It was a whole new flavor experience for me, and I loved it! The brisket was also fantastic, ranking in my top 10 of all I've tried. I wasn't expecting such amazing BBQ in Chicago, so I'm thrilled with this find! We'll definitely be back before we leave.
This restaurant is a unique and rustic gem located in a strip shopping center. The interior has an industrial vibe with quirky decor like fold chairs on the walls and old school chairs that remind me of junior high science class. The prices are a bit high, but the portions are generous. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the pulled pork plate. The plate comes with cole slaw, pickled veggies, pickles, and Texas toast, while the sandwich comes with pickled peppers and pickles. The pickled veggies were amazing, even for someone like me who isn't a huge fan of pickled foods. There are various BBQ sauces on the table to choose from, each representing different regions such as Chicago style, Memphis style, Alabama style, North Carolina style, and South Carolina style. The food was delicious overall, and the only downside was the high prices. I still highly recommend this place for a unique dining experience.
This American BBQ restaurant is a great addition to Schaumburg. The restaurant also has a bar. There are numerous choices for meat and sides on the menu. We tried a variety of meats and sides and all of them were delicious. Out of the 7 of us, we all preferred the Chicago style BBQ sauce, although we also sampled 5 other options. The Alabama chicken, cornbread, elote, and mac n cheese were all outstanding and definitely worth a return visit. The other dishes we tried were also good. We were too full to try the cakes or ice cream, but we all plan to save room for dessert next time we visit.

This is a great place to come with a date, family or group. Blackwood brought Texas bbq to Schaumburg! They have a variety of meats to choose from pork, beef and chicken. Including 6 homemade bbq sauces that are on the tables for you to generously try out. The Pitmaster as they call them in Texas, slices the meats to order so you never get any meat that’s just been sitting in a warmer. We tried the beef brisket platter and it didn’t disappoint. They ask you if you want lean, a little fat or in between. We both ordered in between. The meat was tender, flavorful and generously portioned. You get your choice of a various side with it and we picked coleslaw. They also had onions and pickles on the plate with a piece of Texas toast as to make a sandwich from the meat. The desert pies looked really good but we were full. Places to sit were spacious, clean and they did provide outdoor seating as well. It’s a unique taste of traditional Texas bbq to try out for fun.
