Contribute FeedbackFratelli's is a mixed bag. Some diners found the food over-salted and not worth the price, with disappointing dishes lacking in flavor and quality. However, others raved about the wood oven pizzas, gourmet dishes, and friendly staff. The pasta was a standout for many, and the takeout options were highly recommended. While experiences varied, the consensus seemed to be that Fratelli's offers good value for the price, with some unique and delightful menu items worth returning for. Overall, it is a hidden gem that caters to different tastes and occasions, making it a popular choice for many.
With all the positive reviews, I was really looking forward to the post-Zoo lunch with my family. A hidden "hole-in-wall", "locals-in-the-know" kind of place, serving great Italian. Unfortunately, our experience just didn't live up to expectations, especially given other reviews.First, Service. Not good. The first person who approached our table, who we assumed would be our sever, asked for our drink order. As we all were straight from a hot morning at the zoo, we asked for water. The sigh we got from the server set the tone for the rest of our meal. The poor service that followed after we placed our food order, only reinforced that this is an area needing management attention.Selection. The menu, which I assume might have been strictly for lunch, had limited options on it, with the daily "specials" only presented verbally by the server. As it was a Pizzeria, with the Wood Fired Oven front and center, we thought that would be a good way to go. And while it was okay, it was definitely nothing special, especially at the price point. The daily Pasta special would have been a better option.Ambiance. Small, tight, narrow space, with an open kitchen. It might be something more acceptable/perhaps charming at a lower price point and higher quality food and service, but at this level, it just came off as average at best. Of course having a loud mouth younger couple inches away, swear words and all, was bad enough, but the Italian themed soundtrack playing in the background, including I kid you not, the theme from the "Godfather", well enough said. While Fratelli's may be a solid local choice for those who know the owner, and the in's and out's, for other travelers, I would recommend pursuing other options.
My girlfriend who frequents this well known local establishment, recommended it for dinner since she craves Italian food from time to time. The server was friendly and recommended appropriate red and white wine to accompany our respective meals. I ordered the Fratelli pizza and my girlfriend ordered the veal parmasian. The food arrived quickly and was tasty as expected. To complete the meal, I ordered a cappuccino that was foamy, and hot. I enjoyed my meal and will return for another meal in the future. My only advice is to make a reservation, since it tends to get busy early.
Love their wood burning over pizza! simply delicious! Their pasta is also fabulous as well. Interior décor is pretty nice and charming.
We tried to get into the restaurant twice in the past month, and each time there was at least a 2 hour wait. Third times a charm. Loved it so much. The servers are friendly, and the manager is just so polite. We loved the service and food there. Will for sure go back. To the person that said they were seated next to the washroom... BS!!! there is no way you can be seated right beside it. It's all the way to the back of the restaurant and the closest table there is not anywhere near it. You have to do down a long hall, turn right, and it's all the way to the end. So there is no way you would be "smelling" what you said you'd be smelling.
Have been 3 times in 3 months. Our friends travel 45 minutes to meet us here for dinner (they are Italian). Food is amazing; fresh, tasty, hot and authentic. Service is always great. Love that owner greets us at the door and is able to keep track of the next party and how many are in it. Wish restaurant was bigger or at least waiting area bigger. Still, wait time was well worth it.Wine selection is good. Portion size is awesome. Price is worth it!
