Willie's Southern Style Bbq - Sayre

Best chicken around by a LONG shot! Looking forward to trying more from the menu, definitely worth going out of your way to try his chicken.

I’ve only ever liked my moms pulled pork with her homemade bbq sauce, but yours is amazing! I can’t have my moms anymore since she’s down in Texas so you’ll have plenty of business from me. Only place I’ll trust it from tbh.

I was excited to try this place after my daughter and her bf said there was some good BBQ. Sadly I was disappointed in just about everything I ordered. I ordered two regular chicken quarters with a side of red beans and rice, collard greens, and mac n cheese with some cornbread as well. The chicken was heavy on the smoke smell, and it was a dirty smoke smell. Not sure what kind of wood is being used but it was not good for the flavor at all. The collards were very bitter and did not taste as if they had been cooked down for a few hours, the red beans were ok, but no spices or seasoning I could taste. The corn bread was a tad on the dry side. But I think that's to be expected for the time of day I went. Hubby said the Mac was OK, and he ate the corn bread but neither of us could eat the chicken.
