A must!!! Such a cute little place. The staff was so sweet and the food is yummy... good country soul food. May sound silly but my kiddos chocolate milk was hmmmm. Hmmmm. Good! My omelette was packed and delicious. Definitely made fresh! View all feedback.
What Debi W doesn't like about Wendell's Country:
We wanted breakfast and thought getting out of Helen would get us away from the crowds. This place was full when we arrived and the wait after we were seated was ridiculous! There was a courtesy sign on the door that states each order is cooked in the order it was taken, but seriously? 1 hour for eggs, bacon and biscuits. They were out of sausage and country ham. We didn't discover that until we had been waiting for... View all feedback.
The food is pretty good and the staff is very friendly. The decor is very warm and fitting of the region. The service is a little slow sometimes.
Definitely one of the best southern restaurants I've been to. I wish it was closer to the Atlanta area. It's truly a family restaurants and you can tell. We went in and Wendell himself greeted us and made sure we got a plate of biscuits. I had two eggs with country fried steak and grits and a biscuit. It was delish! The steak was great and so was the grits. My family ALL enjoyed our meals. It was the best part of our trip to Helen.

OMG! we waited almost an hour a substandard breakfast that I could have fixed better at home.
After a 35 minute wait, we were told by it would take over an hour for us to get food. Ridiculous.
