This place is awesome. I hated sushi for my entire life until coming to this place. The head chef recommended o try soy paper instead of seaweed in a California roll and that was the best recommendation of all time!! Everything they have is fresh, and the staff is amazing and super nice and friendly! We had family in town this weekend and decided to have dinner here and as always it was superb. Prices are good, too!... View all feedback.
What Lynh N doesn't like about Sushi 2-2 Train:
My bf said this sushi place he took me to used to be so cute and peaceful with little choo-choo trains bringing sushi to customers, but now there are new owners, so that is all changed.. Now there is no choo-choo trains and railroad tracks. It ended up being a frat boy disaster with drunk people karaoking and dancing.. and did I mention, the service for sushi is bad? They took a really long time for the sushi to come... View all feedback.
They took a really long time for the sushi to come out and even forget to make one of our sushi orders. Sushi was good but I felt the speed of service could be better. Honestly, my bf and I don 't find ourselves coming back. It 's a bummer that I won 't be able to see the way it was back then like my bf said.
Can't believe it's been four years since I've updated my review of the Train! Visited again earlier this week. As usual, the Master himself Sang was at the controls, guiding the Train down the tracks of sushi deliciousness! I started off with the Tuna Poke and as always, asked Sang to make it really, really spicy! He did not disappoint! I was fighting a cold and all of that spice really felt good. I then moved on to a bowl of Miso soup. You'd think that something as basic as Miso soup would be something that all Japanese joints could master but I can tell you that around Virginia Miso soup for the most part does not have the flavor it should it often tastes watered down! Not so at the Sushi 22 Train! It was delicious! I could've drank a gallon of that soup! After the Miso soup, I ordered the Harley Davidson rolls, an order of straight Sake (salmon) just the fish with no rice, and one more order of Tuna Poke. I asked Sang to make it even spicier which he did! The Harley Davidson rolls are a spicy tuna roll and were absolutely perfect! Hit the spot! And the Sake was so tender, succulent, and buttery it could not have tasted any better! Finally, the last round of Tuna Poke was divine. I wish I knew how to make that sauce I'd put it on everything!

The ambiance is very nice and casual. Also they have a really nice selection of rolls. The 49er roll is my favorite.
DONT GO IF YOU ARE NOT A REGULAR! I mean that as in if the ppl who work there don't know you, don't go unless you don't mind waiting for sushi for over an hour. I ordered two rolls and two salmon skin hand roll. Got the second roll about an hour wait, and found out the one sushi chef did not even start the salmon skin hand roll so I cancelled it. The sushi itself is pretty good but very small for the price. Overpriced sushi!!! Like too expensive. Also I really did not like how the one and only sushi chef in the restaurant took his time to make the sushi but took even longer talking to his regular customers AND taking shots and drinking with them! I started questioning the quality of my sushi made by a tipsy chef. And I'm watching the whole thing happen; waiting for my sushi as I watch the sushi chef cheer with his loyal customers. I think it's outrageous to wait longer than an hour for sushi. And the name of the restaurant does not even correspond to the restaurant theme; the theme is more like walls of pictures of little girls (I'm guessing granddaughters? and a karaoke bar type of place. Overall, horrible experience, ruined my day.
