kona grill has great prices too happy hour for selected items that would otherwise be quite expensive. there are 3 sushi reels we get that are $6 and $9 each. if not on happy hour are the same roll $20 and $22 each. our server that was great! She took care of us well. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Kona Grill Sarasota:
The noise level on the terrace and inside the restaurant was quite high, making it impossible to have a conversation at our table. We wanted to turn down the music, as we noticed some guests left before placing their orders due to the loud music. Food was very low quality. Sushi rolls just fell apart. Really crazy as the other restaurant in the group is top quality, Kona even brings down my opinion of their sister restaurants.
We really do not like the electronic tablets at the table. First our tablet had the wrong bill, it was another tables bill, we could tell by the amount. Then our bill would not allow us to apply a rewards free appetizer, you could only sign up as a new account. Then, it charged us $2.99 for Games, we didn 't even play any games on the tablet device. Finally, there was an issue with our bill where I ordered the Pad Thai entree and they charged me the full price for a salad, even though a side salad was supposed to be $5. I tried to have it corrected, and it took about 30 minutes for them to come out and fix it. At that point, I didn 't even want to mention the Games charge of $2.99. If this place removes those electronic tablets, I think it would probably have enjoyed the whole experience a lot more.
Server was trying her best but clearly had too many larger tables sat at once. My toddlers food came out 10 minutes AFTER the adults food. Not exactly an ideal experience for a family with a young child. But we love the food.
The food was cold and quality was lacking. For the prices you don’t get what you pay for. It’s like corporate should’ve closed this location a long time ago. Worst meal award for sure. This is my first bad review of a place in the many years I’ve used open table but feel people should be told. The 1,000 bonus points on every reservation should’ve been a red flag.
