Island House Taqueria - Sarasota County

They have rebranded this honey hole of a taqueria in the past several months. Same owner, new name, Casa Masa. This is not your typical taqueria....we're talking gourmet level tacos here. Aside from the usual taco fare.... carne asada, birria, al pastor, pollo....they also offer some eclectic tacos for the adventurous taco afficianado. Ex: Octopus, Elk Al Pastor, Poached Butter Lobster, Barbacoa Lengua, and on rare occasion specials, Gator and cricket tacos. I can't remember the entie menu, but they have 15 different tacos on the regular menu. That doesn't count the special. Amazing taco joint. They should be on the top 100 taquerias in the COUNTRY, if not the top 10!

Went for the first time tonight and we were all amazed. The service was incredible very friendly and helpful server. The food was delicious, seemed very authentic, and it payed off to try a variety of menu items. We will be back!
