Over the years, I've come to the opinion that the best, most consistent restaurants are those where the owner is always present. This is one of those restaurants. It's usually our first meal on arrival and one of the last before we leave. This year for our last meal, I decided to try the coconut shrimp. What User doesn't like about Dona Celia Lobster House:
We returned to Dona Celia's for a lobster dinner. This was a total disappointment. We each ordered a strawberry Margarita to find out would cost us $10 per drink. The lobster was fair and it was hard to ask ?'s because our waitress did not speak any English. My husband ordered chicken mole. This was not as good as our previous visit. Don't think we'll go back to Dona Celia's. View all feedback.

I've had this dish in many place..this was the best I've had. Another good sign of a good restaurant in a tourist destination is locals. Doña Celia's is almost always full of locals. This time seated nearby were a batch of local politicians entertaining visiting dignitaries. Considering that they were spending public funds, price was no object, yet Doña Celia's prices are very reasonable...she wouldn't be full of locals otherwise.
Late night dining on the sea side patio was fun. The sea food meals were tasty and plentiful. The margaritas were so cold and full of tequila, that one was enough, but no we had to have more. Great location and great food and drinks. Walk in and sit right down , you won't regret the experience.
I recommend going in the evening when it isn't so hot but there is a beach there & you can eat right on the beach. We went at about 1730hrs. Had a bit of a walk about. People harassing you to eat in their restaurant is terrible. Not one person from Dona Celia bothered us. We ordered seafood. It was amazing. All grilled. I had the lobster. It was fantastic. Chips, guacamole & salsa appetiser was excellent but don't let the guy convince you that you need two orders to split among four people. You only need one! One would probably satisfy a table of 6 plus.
Nice and friendly good fresh catch of the day, you do have to negotiate price of the catch of the day as it can be a bit pricey. But will return there..
