Tres Bien. Well do I tell the truth and risk making it harder to book a table here or do I lie...Went with my partner on Saturday evening relying on UrbanSpoon to guide us.We have both been to France but not dined on French cuisine in Australia until now.Fantastic experience, decor, service, food etc... only thing that let us down was the wine. What Maxwell Mohr doesn't like about Chez Pascal:
The food isn't awful.. The chef is. This place is most likely suited to someone who is after dinner and a show. The chef came out three times, once bellowing so loud he actually gave me a fright. He is obviously loving his celebrity personna as he posed for photos and thrust his arrogant self into your face. He should tone it down... Along with the garlic. View all feedback.
Birthday dinner and could not mistake the ambiente or the fantastic service. philippe, the owner and the chef visited every table to have a chat, he is such a nice man. my dilemma is that my entree and main course were far too rich for...I am but hubby’s entree (French wobble soup) and main course (venison) were both excellent! a dessert and rose with candle and vocal of happy birthday were presented to me at the end of our dinner, which was a beautiful surprise, so thank you philippe. we will be happy!
That was my wife for the first time in this restaurant and we were not disappointed. the restaurant had the French mood. the staff was very friendly and repeatedly asked how the dinge run and whether we were happy. Eat, that was from this world....I had the French wobble soup for escape and my wife had the scollops and prawn gratin. beautiful main meal was joue de bouf the brat beef cheered and my wife had the venison and lobster jago and again it was beautiful. I had the chocolate tower and my wife had salted caramel and applecake. heaven we had a great night and loved the interaction with chef philippe. great to see from a restaurant owner. all the ladies got roses and when we left the chef, we opened the door and thanked us for coming. cannot see why there are negative reviews.
Of the time of booking for our party of 6, chef and his team made our evening special. the nutritional requirements were covered with a telephone call book the days that led to our meal. the service, the variety, the quality, the presentation and the ambiente complement one.
Food and service were great. Staff very attentive and extremely polite. Plenty of room as tables not too close. Overall a pleasant experience. Unlicensed.
