Great for a street kitchen. No bad price for a long way from any city. Rate the stop only for the landscape, but take the time to get something and when it is a beautiful day, eat it al fresco. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Ragged Point Inn Wine:
The waiter who served us was so racist and rude! We complained about the service. She kept laughing and mocked us only because we were Asian! The steak was the worst steak we had, but worst of all was when we asked if they have fish and chips, she said we don't! And later she served it, saying we only serve fish chips for kids at night and it's available at lunch for others! The restaurant has a lovely spot, and that... View all feedback.

Let's start Jan. 1, with a TERRIBLE REVIEW waiting for you to hear how this garbage from a restaurant said Happy New Year to my family today. First, please be warned, this place is 100% a dictionary example of a Tourist Trap! On the specific day we landed here unhappyly, the highway was literally locked in this business. So everyone hoped to make it big sur, or the scenic long journey to Monterrey were caught in this garbage dump because of the roadblock. And I really wonder if the owners slipped Cal trans some dollars to close the road right at their place... Forward, I refuse to call this business with its listed name. You don't deserve to be considered a restaurant! For the rest of this review, I will call this duvet of a Business-**** Trap (or CT). Mist Trap gets two stars ONLY the first star in Yelp is obligatory no matter what, so star #2, is just because it is such a beautiful location. But honestly, when will this ruthless planet understand that if you're kidding food with a beautiful place it's always a NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE??1. Service was not existent and let me be clear that they were not understated! I ordered coffee and my wife ordered tea. The server dropped off and that was the last time we saw him until the food came, which was 30 minutes. I asked another server for a coffee refill and she said she would get my server. At some point, you never tell a customer that I get your server... The right answer is always safe, no problem. And sure, my server never came. So I went in with my coffee cup and asked the first person I saw if I had a refill. She said you had to wait while I set up this table. Okay, so I literally stood in the middle of the CT waiting. We wanted to sit outside. It was lunchtime on a Sunday. Each table had a screen, but apparently the staff at CT are also Wettermann, and said it was too windy and let us lower the screen! For REAL?? Yep... Fail #2... yes, it was a little windy, but it wasn't almost destroying your umbrella windy... 3. $18 for fish and chips gave the ridiculous part in the picture. Three small fillets that did not taste fresh, and a small handful of steakfries... I should have sent it back, but after I've been there for 45 minutes, and all the **** I've been through, I just kept it... I also asked about my frits extra crispy and they were delivered soft and soggy. My wife ordered the Falafelteller and that was a true insulting joke! Three small, clearly frozen and reheated packed patties were dry and tasteless. No hummus was served with the dish only a small incense of unfresh, canned tahini. WTF? Who serves Falafel without hummus??? Make a Google search what is served with Falafel when you think this is a strange complaint... My wife is celiac gluten-free and the server would not be a gluten-free option against the pitas that came with him. Can you believe it???!!! No tortilla chips, no gluten-free bread, and would not allow maize tortillas even if they had a taco plate on the menu!! So CT lives clearly up to its actual name... Bug#3, #4 and #5!!4. If you are to rent slow, ignorant, zero work ethics, legitimate server AT LEAST offer Wi Fi! What do you think? Despite the fact that there are three Wi Fi signals that belong to this business, no customers are available! There is not even internet available for hotel guests!!! So, CT 's fail #6... Finally, we have another example of how ignorant and talentless owners of restaurants can be. The problems with CT are terrible and will ruin the day you had. If you are looking for food on the highway 1 between San Simeon and Monterrey, be very careful: most places are a combination of torn, terrible food and legitimate bad service. But if you are absolutely eating at ****
Great food, view, nice service (can be slow, but who cares if you are in such a breathtaking environment), this restaurant is a special treat as you drive north of Hearst/San Simeon Castle. My husband and I sometimes splash and spend a scenic view at night in the surrounding Ragged Point Inn. Our real reason is to eat in the restaurant, be it lunch or dinner. We have eaten here many times, usually at the end of the rave over our ducks and salads. Beautiful local wines, cocktails and delicious desserts, I cannot wait to return.
Had a very good burger and fries at the snack bar for $8 and at a second stop in the dining room and had rock fish. Both meals were very good. The server wasn't so great.
My husband and I were camping at San Simeon State Park all week and decided to come up here for lunch. This is a beautiful venue. The grounds and views of the ocean are breathtaking. Definitely worth a trip. Sadly, the restaurant didn't prove as up to snuff as the beautiful venue. Really good service. We were immediately seated and brought water and menus. We were really looking forward to a nice relaxing lunch outside on their beautiful patio. My husband ordered the clam chowder and said it was delicious. People around us who ordered their Fish and Chips seemed really happy with their meal. I ordered the Tagine appetizer for my Entree. I have had Tagine before and loved it. The presentation was nice, but the chicken was so dry and certainly did not even have a resemblance of Tagine chicken. They served two sauces that were really bland and not very good at all. The olives that were served with the dish were very old and mushy. I was so disappointed. Next time up here, we will probably pass on the restaurant and go to their take-out restaurant.
