What MicheleM doesn't like about La Toscana:
We had a 6:15 reservation and were seated immediately. Our server did not come to our table for 15 mins after we sat down for drink orders. I was delighted to learn wine (bottles only) is half off on Wednesdays, which is when visited.
Fabulous food, bit slow on service, but very friendly and professional. The outer rooms had the best atmosphere, fountain burbling. Vegetarian options: Bean dishes, eggplant Parmesan, salads Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access and designated spots
My wife was over the moon about her Ravioli in Brown Butter Sauce pasta done right, good filling to pasta ratio, and a marvelous brown butter sauce. The bread was also exceptional with a hard crusty exterior, and a nice sour dough tang. And the Arugala salad was plentiful and a tasty dressing used sparingly, with feta, pine nuts and a few tomatoes. Unfortunately the soup had been cooked way to long, with mushy vegetables and beans.
Fabulous! I was in Bay Area for a visit after moving back East. Large portions and very fresh.
I ordered a margarita and told the waiter there was virtually no alcohol in the margarita. Three of us had margaritas and agreed on the limited amount of alcohol. At 15 dollars a piece the drink should include a shot of alcohol.
