I thoroughly enjoyed the seasonal brisket banh mí at this restaurant. It was absolutely amazing. I also tried their famous mac and cheese, which was phenomenal. The combination of meat and bread was perfect and definitely worth the wait in line. I recommend going during the week and as close to 11am as possible. The staff was very friendly and I can't recommend this place enough. It reminds me of the great BBQ I had... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Heritage Barbecue:
This place mimics many aspects of a world class BBQ place in Austin Texas called Franklins BBQ(selling by the lb, opening 11am-sellout T shirts, prices on some meats). To compare this place to Franklin's I feel is fair. The star rating is based on how Heritage compares the Franklin's.Brisket was dry, pulled pork and pork ribs lack strong flavor. Sides are better than Franklin's but people don't go to BBQ primarily be... View all feedback.
Each time we visited heritage barbecue, we have assumed that it could not live up to the high cash that it had visited earlier. then it cleared the bar easy. this could be the best casual there area in orange county, and there are many good. our one tip: check it on a weekday to miss some of the lines. but even if they have to wait, it's worth it.
Very good BBQ at an OK price. Got there on a Sunday when it opened. Wait of about 45 minutes. Not all seating tables are covered so bring sunscreen. I had the pulled pork. Good size and good taste. Sauce is on the side so you can add lots of extra if you want. The Texas chille was very good. Very few if any beans. I think I saw one when I tasted but it was top on my list to really notice at the time) Very good cornbread.
The BBQ was definitely good quality. It wasn't so commercialized tasting; surprisingly since it was across the street from a major tourist spot. The thing that sucks is that the meal came out pretty cold, but I'm sure it was due to the 65 f degree weather around 3:30 PM.Aside from that, my favorite thing was the banana pudding! Straight 10/10. I really loved it. Nothing fancy, just good simple flavor. The mashed potatoes were good too, but the bread was really a perfect side. I wish I knew where they got it from... Pulled pork taco didn't wow me, but I bet the sandwich version is way better.I wish the weather was warmer because I know that brisket would've been amazing fresh out the smoker... but I'm not mad at the place, I enjoyed it despite the weather instantly cooling my food!
Texas recipe style brisket . Was good and tasty , try the burn ends , they are are where the best flavor is…. Mac cheese wasn’t bad , I wish they would of had better drink options, however conveniently across Mission San Juan .
Delicious bbq and the special Mac and cheese! Long line parking lot and parking structure around the block. All out door seating. Very limited drinks, no diet sodas but water is available for low calorie drink options!
