Happi House - San Jose

Happi House is a quick service format Teriyaki, Tempura and Noodle restaurant, which began in San Jose’s Japantown in the 70’s. Their food is really good, especially for fast food, and their take home Happi Paks are great to feed larger groups. Highly recommended if you want really good teriyaki at a reasonable price.

If you think the ' portions are getting smaller ', (they aren 't) order a number 5, bring the Metro coupon (pay the extra dollar, since the coupon is #1-#4) and you will be stuffed! I never finish the whole thing, and have a 2nd meal the next day! Also, the staff is great, and has been the same for at least the 7 years I can remember. . .rare these days to have that employee loyalty! Gave it 5 stars!

This is my go to for quality healthy food in the form of Japanese barbecue. The service is pretty fast and I have never had a poor quality meal at this location. Try the Teriyaki Trio, I order it pretty muchevery time.

Happi House is one of the greatest and most missed places I've eaten at ever since I left the bay area. I typically buy up 4-5 sauces every time I visit, then covet the stuff until it's gone. I don't know what's in their teriyaki that makes it so unique and amazing, but it's absolutely incredible (and addicting.

I enjoy the food here. Good for those who want to eat a fair amount without spending too much. I enjoy the chicken most, but the beef and pork are also enjoyable and the tempura is also pretty darn good. With the additon of a generous amount of rice, this creates a full meal that is hard to beat, either in price or in tastiness. Last, but not least, the teriyaki sauce and chicken salad are amazing, especially when paired. This says nothing of the staff, whom are always helpful, hardworking, and fast. Even when they are backed up, I always get my order in 10 mins or less.
