One of the best Italian meals I've ever had in San Francisco! The pizza was amazing, the pasta was delicious, and the wine was superb! It was a fantastic experience overall. A special thank you to Meredith for being so kind! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Vega:
This was my first visit to Vega. My friend and I hadn't really looked into Bernal before, but we were immediately impressed by the beautiful outdoor seating at Vega. Overall, it was a great experience! View all feedback.
Great FriendlyService.Nice old school feeling inside.Good Chicken, Saltinbaca, Pasta with Squid Ink(Very tasty).desserts.I 'll go back.
This was my first time at Vega. My friend and I had never really explored Bernal and we were immediately enticed by Vega's nice outdoor seating and overall nice atmosphere. We were immediately seated, even though it was a busy Friday night.Service was super friendly and fast, absolutely no complaints! I really wish I could rate this restaurant higher, but the food just was not great. Every dish was somehow missing something. While it wasn't necessarily bad food, it was disappointing given the high price point. If you're looking for bomb Italien food, this would probably not be my first pick.
The restaurant itself was VERY dark and extremely loud. It may have been the acoustics of my specific seat, but I could not hear the person sitting across from me over the noise. The waiter greeted us and we were offered a glass of wine from the owner I would assume while we waited for our table (only about 10 minutes or so without a reservation). I only assume this because he was wearing a baseball cap and not professionally dressed. After that, there was very little interaction with anyone. We sat for quite some time while waiting to place our order. I ordered the chicken which came with asparagus. The chicken was nice. Tasted fine. The asparagus on the other hand, was so over cooked it was mush. The others in the party said their food was equally below average. There was no interaction with anyone from the time they dropped off the food and the time they came to take it away. A check in would have been nice. Or at least to refill the water. Once finished and the plates were taken, we then continued to sit for an uncomfortable amount of time before we could get anyone's attention to pay the bill. Overall, I did not enjoy neither my food nor the service enough to go back or recommend to anyone.
We were craving for some risotto and found this place. The vibe is great, but a little too dark for us. We ordered Pizza Capricciosa and one of their specials, Salmon Risotto. Both the food was ok. I personally am not a fan of the pizza as the flavor is a little on the sour side. But I do like the crust. Salmon Risotto was a little bland. We had to add some salt to fit our tasting.Overall it's an okay restaurant for couples to have a semi-romantic dinner in the city.
Roman fare. Warm cozy atmosphere. You can feel the owner's personal care in every bite. This place is a labor of love and the closest I've been to Italy in a long time. My current favorite Italian restaurant tucked into the Cortland valley of Bernal Heights. It's good.Food: 5/5
