This casual corner spot is perfect for when you're in the mood for Asian cuisine but can't quite decide on a specific country's kitchen. The interior is cleverly designed with a few outside tables available. The Laksa noodle soup is surprisingly authentic, especially since other dishes like knights are also featured on the menu. This restaurant is ideal for lunch, a weekend dinner, or a casual first date. View all feedback.
What Bridie T doesn't like about The Spice Jar:
Service was great but sadly the food has gone down hill since the original Japanese owners sold it. It's either they're cutting corners with quality ingredients or have different cooks, but the food doesn't taste the same as it did before when frequented this place and loved it so much. Don't think we'll be back sadly. View all feedback.
I made a dinner with my Hubby after which we were looking for a few months ago. Best customer service I experienced in a while. The food is fresh and delicious. Please try the dishes of the house you will not regret. Will recommend this beautiful place in the mission district to anyone who wants to taste a good spicy Asian cuisine. Thank you. Spicy Jar for my date... Unique!
I got the salmon and it was great. Came on a sunday early evening and it was very quiet, not busy. The service was great too!
First time trying The Spice Bar and it was delicious! We ordered the calamari salad, garlic noodles, and the tempura Brussel sprouts. The flavors in every dish were perfect.
Homemish atmosphere with delicious Asian Californian fusion. Generous portions, very nice service, and good value. Lovely broccoli tempura, great calamari salad, and Mongolian beef wok. Pork ramen was closer to Malaysia style, just sadly with hard boiled eggs.
Delicious Asian fusion comfort foods. Pork belly baos were out of this world; crispy calamari salad was excellent; and chicken and shrimp laska noodle soup; and 7 spices salmon was just okay, a little on the dry side.
