I ordered 2 rolls from here the other day and i liked them. I noticed some people saying the rolls are small which may be true but the price more than reflects that. I actually thought the rolls were a good size for the price. I've paid upwards of $17-19 for tiny rolls from other places in the bay area. The Golden Gate roll was very yummy. Perfect balance of raw fish, unagi and a little sweet from the mango. I will d... View all feedback.
What V J doesn't like about Sakesan Sushi Robata:
This place is just ok.California Rolls: Sad and cheap version of a California roll. They just shove an imitation crab stick in the roll and don't even bother making the California roll crab mixture with mayo, etc. Also no cucumber is added like they do in higher quality establishments.Tempura: Just okStaff: Always friendly View all feedback.
This restaurant is excellent! Everything is super fresh. We ordered so many things: raw oysters, soft shell crab, octopus karaage, agedashi tofu, chirashi don, udon, multiple skewers, different nigiris, and the wagu rice ball. Delicious! I didn’t get to take pics of everything bc my family gobbled the food so fast. Service was very friendly. Restaurant is very clean. I can’t wait to go back
Great place with a huge selection of food and drinks. You'd want to start with $1 fresh oysters. Rolls and sashimi all very good.Food: 5/5
I really love Sakesan because service is good and sushis are delicious. I was refusing to eat sushi, however I dined in Sakesan one time just to try sushi and that place made me in love with sushi.Yesterday, we got 5 sushi rolls. These are 3 49ers, one cherry blossom and 1 spicy tuna cucumber roll.We loved 49ers and cherry blossom. Spicy tuna roll was good.Last time when we dined in we got phoenix but it as so heavy for us.The only thing we don’t like about Sakesan is there could be more design rolls with fish instead of shrimp. I think most of the rolls are with shrimp. If you don’t like shrimp, you don’t have so many choices.
Sushi was fresh and service was fast. They have cooked foods too like chicken hearts and beef tongue and pork belly for non-sushi folks. This is the best sushi joint in the neighborhood.Food: 5/5
Came on a whim and was pleasantly surprised with how fresh their cuts were. The 20 piece sashimi was so pretty, so fresh and delicious. It was also happy hour, everyday 4-6pm, not good selections for food during happy hour, just a few appetizers but good value on their drinks. We had hot sake off the happy hour menu and the lychee jelly sake which was really pretty and interesting! I would say it was like a Jell-O shot but not as thick, very fun to drink and had a nice kick to it. I also enjoyed the salmon belly nigiri, the Hokkaido uni nigiri, the unagi nigiri and salmon yaki onigiri. Seating was unique and somewhat private, service was friendly and fast. Place was clean and spacious. I'd definitely come back.
