on tripadvisor was noticed that this place was around the corner of my hotel. had not eaten too much filipino in my life, so I thought I would try. the restaurant offers two options a’la cart, cooked to order or 10 or so dishes on heating plates. I chose chicken-rich with garlic rice from the heating plates. it was very good. the staff is super friendly, the prices are reasonable and the servings are generous. View all feedback.
What an absolute hidden gem! Kusina Ni Tess was just around the corner from my hotel when I was looking for a good breakfast and it could not have been a better find! I've not eaten much Filipino food, so I wasn't sure what to order at first, but they helped me and directed us to the #1 and #2 breakfasts. They were both absolutely astoundingly good with sizable portions. Since we ate there, they also gave us beef soup as a side that was to die for so flavorful and warming! I've marked this as a new breakfast tradition to attend when I'm in town and I let my friends know as well.
I’m shocked I’ve never heard of this spot after months of eating out in the Tenderloin. Walked in with $20 and asked the woman to surprise me with whatever she thinks is best and walked out with a big plate of Tapsilog for $12. Seems family owned, very nice workers. Bummed I didn’t discover this place sooner
It felt like I was enjoying a meal cooked by my mom and late grandmother. I was staying nearby and looking for an early breakfast spot. Luckily, I found this place open at 7am with the help of Google. The Tosilog and Embotido were delicious and kept me satisfied for most of the day. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant, especially since the prices are very reasonable for being in the city. This place offers Filipino Comfort Food at its best.
The Tapsilog at this restaurant was incredibly tasty. The portion size was just right for the price. The meat was cooked perfectly, with a little bit of tenderness and not tough at all. The fatty pieces melted in your mouth.
Since my bestie introduced me in Filipino-Food in 2018, I am absolutely obsessed! I can't help filipino breakfast almost every day of the week it is so delicious, I just have hunger thinking about it! this is our way to order filipino eating in san francisco. my man and I always order the 2 of the tosilogs and a side of the longanisa! we also order 2 more fried eggs because we love eggs and why not! the tosilog is my absolute favorit, I also love that they give a small side of vinegar cuz I want to give it to everything! if ben extra starving, we also get the clumps! and if we order after 10 o'clock, I also order the pork jar. it is sooo good I order only one baptism and eat it for 2 3 meals. lol! highly recommended for breakfast if she had never had filipino breakfast, they are for a pleasant tasty! pro tipp: after they've eaten all the things, as my bestie says, go eat something nice cuz there's not really much of it on the menu!
