So I will say, at first I ordered 2 mochas but the server gave us Hot Chocolate’s. We then approached her about changing our drink and she was more than happy to do so. In fact, she kept the Hot Chocolate and added like 2 espresso shots to it, which made for one of the best Mochas I’d ever had. Like why tf doesn’t everyone do this? Should have followed my gut I've had macchiato's here on two previous occasions and was not impressed with the staff but decided to try the food anyway. The omelette was fair at best my biggest complaint is they served it with no condiments and when I asked for more coffee they said no refills. Mike and his Bean Bag cafe are a neighborhood special; the San Francisco equivalent of a diner. Comfortable, good food served with no pretension by the friendly team. It’s a regular morning stop.
Greeted by the most friendly, patient and accommodating guy, who made the experience particularly good and memorable, which continued when the delicious food and drink were served. Great little place and friendly vibe.
Pros: lots of vegetarian options very polite and friendly staff everything was flavorful. I got the iced oat milk latte, bean bag sweet crepe and Vienna savory crepe. Liked it all! Cons: messed up my mocha order to a latte brought out the sweet dish along with the mains which made the crepe stretchy and chewy by the time we got to it.
The guy at the counter who I presume is the owner was super friendly and made the cafe a welcoming place to be. Delicious pancake and Mexican eggs Would definitely eat there again if I'm back in SF.
My favorite neighborhood cafe! Family owned, super friendly and helpful staff, great ambiance, feels very homey! And of course the food is delicious, highly recommend the chicken pesto crepes!
