La Bonne Table is the top French restaurant in San Diego. The cozy bistro gives diners the feeling of being in France. All the dishes are fantastic, but their blackhead escargot is a standout! The service is excellent. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about La Bonne Table:
It is a nice place, but the food was disappointing, and did in no way justify the price. Having lived 20 years at the border of France, I know how French food should taste. The need to order sides and BREAD separately is an absolute no-no to French cuisine. (I remember being denied dinner in France once since the restaurant ran out of bread... . View all feedback.
Special drinks are delicious and they have a nice wine selection. I go here to pretend like I’m in France. I’ve tried every main course and though the Trout is my favorite, I love them all.
Our go to for quality, delicious, top-notch bistro French food. We’ve tried everything on the menu over the years. Our favorite restaurant in San Diego by far!
I took my wife here for our 11th anniversary. We were greeted and seated within seconds. A minute later our host congratulated us with champagne. Which was a very nice compliment. Everything about this place was awesome. Additional to the champagne we ordered two cocktails, wife got The Saint substituted with vodka and I got the The Dandy Sazerac both were great. Food was great as well, for our appetizers we shared the Rillette de Homard et Crabe. Wife had the Poulet Frites and I had the Moules a la Bisque de Homard. Ended our dinner with an espresso and Chocolate Hazelnut Cake. The atmosphere was nice plus the staff is delightful. I think our reservation time was perfect. During 5-6:30 there was little to moderate noise which was great time to make conversation with the wife. As it got later the tables started to fill and you can hear people having a good time catching up with one another. This is a small place and I would say reservations is highly recommended. If you plan on walking in they can accommodate by seating you at the bar which is a good option. We would definitely make it out here again.
Victor provided excellent big-city, sophisticated, refined service, which is so hard to find, especially in this price range in So. Cal. The food was good and plentiful- yes, at a French restaurant. I recommend it for a romantic night out. It's probably not the best setting for mist young kids, they would be bored, IMHO.
Wonderful restaurant, great service and cozy ambiance. Terrific wine.
