I loved brunching at this adorable restaurant. They were playing live music when we visited and it was such a vibe! The interior was so cute, sorta felt neo victorian? What Joaquin Kohler doesn't like about Drakes:
From the pictures I expected to have a lovely breakfast, but I was left disappointed. I ordered takeout: a **** Mary that was a warm cup of spices with no ice and no vodka. A BPR combo that had cold scrambled eggs and flavorless potatoes (no pepper or salt in the bag). A waffle that looked delicious in pictures but in person was thick and dry. The breakfast here is fantastic! I really enjoy the breakfast tacos and the Café Americano.
The Chinese Chicken Salad is one of the best I've ever tasted!
Drakes is fantastic! I've visited several times, and I highly recommend their drinks, as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
We hope this lovely restaurant can improve its service to match the quality of its facilities and ambiance. Unfortunately, the service fell short of expectations. It was surprising to see 1-2 staff members standing around the host or hostess with nothing to do while we struggled to get the attention of our waiter or waitress to place our order or settle the bill. The atmosphere is beautiful, but the staff frequently changed the music and its volume, which was quite distracting. The food was good—not exceptional, but solid—and the portions were generous.
I had a fantastic time during happy hour with eight friends. The food and drinks were excellent!
