What Emmitt Boehm doesn't like about El Castillo Mexican Seafood:
No sauce for enchiladas. Flour tortillas were cold. No chile for crispy tacos. My plate was not even warm or hot. Cheese in enchiladas wasn't even melted. Had to send plate back to warm up. Never again. View all feedback.
This restaurant is truly exceptional. You know it's a great place when the chips are thick and crispy, perfect with their fresh salsa. The highlight for me was the sopas, with just the right balance of ingredients. The filled sauces have a strong kick, so be careful not to overdo it.

The breakfast tacos at this restaurant are excellent. The sausage and egg, bacon and egg, and chicken fajita tacos with green peppers are all delicious and well-prepared. The flour tortillas are tasty and authentic. The guisada is flavorful without being too salty, and the asada is cooked to perfection. The burrito, served with guisada sauce, is also tasty. The chef uses a large skillet method to serve hot, flavorful dishes. The food stays hot even in a to-go bag. The only critique is the salsa, which is okay but could be thicker for my taste. The restaurant is conveniently located near public parking and is truly a hidden gem. The staff is friendly and offers great suggestions. I give this place five stars.
Because of the reviews for lunch. not disappointed! great eating, the waiting staff was super friendly and waited no other than all restaurants on the promenade. had the chicken Fajitas and they were excellent. def the short walk from the river promenade worth!
This is a solid 5 star Tex-Mex place. I went by on a whim, and I'm glad I did. Service was awesome, the place was awesome, and most important, the food was awesome. Considering that it's a restaurant downtown, prices are more than fair. Substantially sized lunch plates start at about $6.
