Pretty much in the place for a nice intimate dinner. The atmosphere was nice, service was fantastic, and the food was delicious. I got the NY strip and my husband ordered the ribeye. Both were cooked for perfection. The steaks came with 5 delicious diving sauce. It is located in Hotel Valencia, so you can relax in the lounge area and listen to live music. We're definitely coming back. View all feedback.
What Krystal Wiza doesn't like about Dorrego's:
Let me start by saying we went for the experience and the Argentinian food. Made a reservation for a nice, romantic dinner. Could have walked in, no need for a reservation. We dressed up thinking it was going to be a nice, upscale restaurant. Nope. Could have just gone in casual and been served. Definitely not impressed with the food. My husband ordered steak and I had chicken. Steak could have crawled off the plate... View all feedback.
(5 stars reserved for the exemplary service). This restaurant/bar is located in Hotel Valencia. Very nice. On weekends they have live music (guitar singing etc.). The bar is medium, but the staff knowledge is phenomenal! Your Dorego Burger is amazing. The drinks are always on the spot and the barkeeps are super friendly and know their drinks and brands very well! Always a pleasure to drink and eat here.

The food, interior design and service were all exceptional. I had the catcher. It was delicious. I recommend the garden salad as he was one of the better I had. Steak tasted great. The Malbec was wonderful. You will absolutely love this place.
Excellent, so it was. The food, service, every nuance of Dorrego was amazing thanks to our server Antonio. He greeted us cordially and put us directly. Before a minute had passed, we both had a generous sample of a red Argentinian wine whose name just escaped me. We chose the evening special, 30oz Tomahawk Ribeye for two. It was paired with roasted potatoes, boiled broccoli, mushrooms / onions and 4 diving sauce. It was cooked for perfection with a uniform Char, juicy inside and a hint of smokey taste. The interior of Derrego is small, intimate, cozy and relatively quiet. There is an outdoor seating area from which you can see the Riverwalk, which shows its Christmas fineness. The only thing I would suggest is a better direction to the restaurant even when entering the hotel (Valencia), where it is located from East Houston Street. I'm not making a habit of handing 5? Reviews, but this restaurant this evening deserves each of them.
We had such a fantastic time, the food was perfection and so was the service so I did something I rarely ever do, I gave 5? 's. We had reservations for 6:45p after seeing TSO and got stuck by a train? One quick call and our table was held for us. We were seated almost immediately by Antonio and he remained at our service the entire evening. He started us off with a complimentary sample glass of an Argentinian wine. I 'm not big on reds but it was quite good. I ordered a Blackberry Bramble the hubby got the spicy margarita, both of which we give 2 thumbs up.We chose the Tomahawk steak for two which came out picture perfect. Delicious! It was served with roasted potatoes, lightly fried broccoli, onions, mushrooms and 4 dipping sauces. For dessert we both had the chocolate crema. Fabulous from start to finish. We left positively stuffed. This was not a cheap meal and we didn 't expect it to be. The steak alone was $130. With a generous tip our bill came to $300. If you have the means then definitely pit this place on your hit list. It is small, intimate, comfortable and has easy Riverwalk access. We will be back!
