This restaurant serves good food, service was fairly okay. The restaurant manager (may be owner) came to us to welcome us, that was really nice. The highlight is the view you get from atop the tower. Nice music from the live band was a delight. View all feedback.
What KimberlyG809 doesn't like about 601:
We’ve eaten at the Chart House in Las Vegas. There’s zero comparison. My $105 lobster was rubber on the edge requiring a steak knife and the center was raw. The rice pilaf was awful!! The lava cake had no lava. The outside was over cooked. No “lava” in the center. My husbands quail was burnt to a crisp. I only gave this 2 stars because our server tried so hard to keep up. In addition the ladies room was DISGUSTING!!... View all feedback.
We decided to go to Happy Hour at this restaurant. The view was incredible and the Happy Hour prices were fair. Our first order came quickly, but we had to wait over an hour for our second order. We were not happy about that. Chef Giovanni came to our table to explain the delay and apologized. He also brought us a delicious dessert plate. We originally planned to just have a few bites and take it home, but it was so tasty that we ended up finishing the whole thing. We will definitely visit this restaurant again next time we are in San Antonio.
The restaurant at the Tower of Americas should not have an age restriction of 21 and up, especially since it is the only affordable option in the area. I am 18 years old and would have liked to try some of the food and desserts offered at Bar 601. Unfortunately, I was unable to join my family for a meal as I was not allowed to sit with them while they enjoyed their drinks. This age restriction was not mentioned when purchasing tickets for the Tower of Americas. Despite this disappointment, the view from the tower was still breathtaking.
Stop by and enjoy happy hour cocktails in the sky Monday to Friday from 4:30-7 PM!
It 's been a few years, but I finally made out to Tower of America 's Bar 601 for Happy Hour. I have to say that I was totally impressed. The fish tacos were off the charts. Made the traditional way with mahi-mahi and corn tortillas. The taste wasphenomenal, especially for $7. The lettuce wraps were super tasty and plentiful $5. Not on the Happy Hour was the lobsterbisque, but I just couldn 't resist. Couple of glasses of wine to wash it all down. Highly recommend Bar 601 for a greatrelaxing Happy Hour!!
Fantastic views of San Antonio. Definitely worth a visit to watch the sunset night lights. You can take the elevator and go straight to the bar; no need to pay for
