What User doesn't like about Kyoto Japanese:
I've been visiting Kyoto for over 15 years, but I've noticed a decline in the quality of the food. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning. The tempura was not crispy, the miso soup was too salty, and the sashimi was disappointing. View all feedback.
Sat at the sushi bar and had a great meal service was good and fast from the chef’s. Had 16 piece sashimi and a excellent Lobster roll. Very well done by the chef. The dry sake was pricey for the quantity 24- for two small glass cups.
Gluten Free dining review First time eating here with my wife, who has celiac disease. The service was great and our server brought out their gluten free menu upon request. The menu had quite a few options and they even offer a gluten free teriyaki sauce on several menu items, we will try those next time. Our server seemed to be knowledgeable about the nuances of a true gluten free experience and double checked if the house salad had a gluten free dressing, which it did not, so she let my wife know not to order it. They do serve a gluten free soy sauce, Tamari, which was brought out with our meal. We ordered 3 sushi rolls, Geisha, Rainbow, and Kinkaku. My wife hasn’t eaten sushi rolls in two years and to top it off these rolls were so delicious it nearly brought tears to her eyes. No gluten reactions after the meal so they truly did a thorough job in preventing cross contamination. Thank you, Kyoto, for a great worry free meal that we know we can come back and enjoy anytime!
Wonderful sushi! Gluten-free menu and many great options. Very fresh with real crab!!! Super authentic atmosphere.
This was first time going...we were seated right away and Ping, the waitresses quickly makes you feel at home..could tell when struggling to decide what to order and helped make suggestions to help get what was desired... The restaurant is nice with a Japanese feel and the food was exquisite. Sashimi 16 piece was fresh and great textures with a very well thought out arrangement. Teriyaki tenderloin dell apart in your mouth and the beef sukiyaki had a wonderful mix of flavors. I don't often splurge for desert but the food was delicious so I had to try the fruit tart and mango ice cream...it left me bursting at the seams because the bold flavor kept me going for another bite.. Definitely recommend this location for a peaceful delicious meal.
Absolutely amazing! It 's really a step above restaurants in Utah. Make sure you set a reservation, parking is limited. The 'booth ' we sat in was very japanese style, with options to not kneel. The atmosphere was great, I have not been to Japan, but it 's probably the closest thing Utah will get. Our server was dressed in a kimono, not all were, but I appreciated it.
