What User doesn't like about Le 7 Auberge & Restaurant:
My husband and myself enjoyed an evening meal here. We were warmly welcomed by our host. The staff speak French and English and the service was good and the food was good. There were only a couple of issues: our first choice of wine was not available and I was given the wrong flavour of ice cream for dessert. However on balance we had a good evening and would eat there again. View all feedback.
We found the service exquisite, honest, refreshing and the food was beautifully cooked and delicious from starter to dessert. The hosts speak excellent French and are English by origin. I will always think of Pompadour fondly because of the warm welcome and our lovely meal at No. 7 and know that we will return (if only to sample the fish, duck or the beef or the poulet) ... Great range of options, and very considerate for you to have the kids menu available... Absolutely loved it Anna and Jon and see you again soon to sample your magnifique cuisine and style in a beautiful homely environment...
Simple really, 6 of us went for lunch in Nov Food was great quality, and the service is great, speak both French and English and the food is French, but they have a great chef who brings out the best in the food. Can't fault it really. Will be going back next time we are at Pompadour Book if you plan to go on a festive day or weekend it gets busy
We travelled quite a way to this restaurant which is very conveniently situated in the centre of the town just a few metres from the entrance to the racecourse. We went there on a dismal November French bank holiday and it brightened our day. We were glad we had booked as the place was full, turning away others arriving after us. The menu was extensive for a restaurant in France and 4 of the party had the 22€ menu whilst 2 had the extra course 30€ menu. All dishes were freshly cooked, evidenced when one of the party, unable to eat cheese asked about the inclusion of cheese in one of the dishes and so this was omitted from the stuffed chicken breast at his request. Everyone enjoyed the food and we followed the recommendation of the house for the wine (a local rosé and were not disappointed. Service was friendly and nothing was too much trouble and we were not rushed even though we were the last to leave the restaurant after our leisurely lunch spent chatting to firends we had not seen in a while. We will definitely go again on a race day for lunch before the famed Pompadour Races next summer. Total cost for 6 was just about 190€ ie which averaged out at a shade over 30€ p/head which, on a bank holiday for aperatifs, beers, fantastic 3 or 4 course meal, wine coffees was good value in my book. Can't recommend it enough!
