The atmosphere and service at this restaurant are fantastic, but unfortunately, the food falls short. However, it's still a great spot to relax and enjoy some drinks. Food rating: 3, Service rating: 5, Atmosphere rating: 5. View all feedback.
The eating was on the spot! our server vera was fabulous and points us in the right direction, what to order and explains the menu options. voodoo garnel; torpedo garnel sandwich to immerse in the amazing bisque. we had such a wonderful experience that we went the next night with a friend and asked for Vera again. great kindness and attention. the special grouping and seafood cake was excellent. hubby had surfing and shaking. steak cooked perfectly. we look forward to the brunch before we go home!
My daughter and I visited Shrimpy Blues last night for a late dinner. It was magnificent! I had Shrimp and Grits and it was so delicious! I also had a cup of gumbo which was the best I’ve ever had! The atmosphere is relaxing and well decorated, very roomy! Indoor or outdoor dining. I felt like I was in New Orleans! Blues music was playing in the back ground! To top the evening off we had beignets for dessert! My favorite restaurant by far while on vacation on this area!
Stopped in for the first time in a long time to Shrimpys to meet friends for happy hour. I am thrilled to see that tasty food and great service (thank you, George) is back. The view of course is unbelievable and the place is very comfortable and inviting. Three of us had Voodoo Shrimp (sweet spicy) served with tri-color taco chips from the happy hour menu. Absolutely delicious. The chicken basket with fries and hushpuppies was crispy, fresh and tasty (too bad there were only three hushpuppies that is how good they were). The happy hour menu additionally had a wide variety of things to eat. Fried pickles, hush puppies, gator bean dip, chicken sliders, shrimp cocktail, coconut shrimp to name a few. The Early Bird looked delicious with four entrees with a side salad to choose from. The shrimp lobster soup and the gumbo are equally delicious. A great place for locals and visitors to enjoy themselves. Free parking too.
Been there a few times. Food has been excellent every time. Chef's specials are creative and very tasty. The gumbo is a favorite, as are the poo boy sandwiches. Many items can be fried, blackened or grilled, which is a big plus for me.
Excellent food and service! Location is along the canal with indoor and outdoor seating. There is a great outside area with big windows that open/close depending on weather. It was a bit windy and chilly when we dined so the windows were closed, but we still got the alfresco vibe we were looking for. For an appetizer we tried the stuffed portobello and it was really good. It's huge and practically a meal in itself. It came out cold initially, but our server quickly addressed the issue and we were able to enjoy it before our dinner came out. We also ordered spinach artichoke dip and it was great, but too similar to the mushroom. We definitely should have tried something else, but weren't paying attention when ordering. Next, we tried a caesar salad and lobster bisque. Both were excellent and made in house. For dinner, I ordered the Captain's Platter with grouper as the fresh catch, and my husband had the shrimp boil. Yum! Everything tasted fresh and had great flavor. My daughter had a kid's hamburger. For a seafood restaurant it was surprisingly pretty good too. We ordered way too much food for two (and a half) people, but as out of towners, everything sounded so good. So much food and every bite was wonderful! Our server was also excellent. He was very attentive and friendly always making sure we had what we needed.
