What User doesn't like about Ostalamer:
The place is quite nice, decorated with traditional good taste. Food is also very good.Price is a little overpriced. The disappointment was one of the waitress that resulted really disgusting. I think that the owners have very good intentions and know how to treat the customers, but it would be great if they could teach that waitress that was attending us. View all feedback.
First, the positives the elevated location of the restaurant offers a beautiful view of the sea and the sunset while eating on the terrace. The food was very good, especially Iberique ham; the lobster was also very tasty. Not so good...the difficulty we have experienced to book; they would only accept phone reservations, which is difficult if my French command is not extensive and the phone reception in the area was terrible. Also, it would have been good to be able to choose the size of the lobster (we would have paid more) and have been given a way to pay for a supplement to accompany them e.g. salad chips, as the three or four tiny potatoes on the plate were not sufficient.
On the way back from Biarritz, we stop for lunch in this beautiful restaurant. We had great food, best views and excellent service. The price was very reasonable, from delicious lobster to great sardin and desert. Can't ask for better food. These are really 4.5 stars.
We had lunch on the outdoor terrace on a warm, sunny, early autumn day. We were part of a group and our meal was served family style. I cannot comment at the price of meal because it was included in our tour. I'll... say the food was excellent! Very fresh ingredients, simple, well seasoned dishes to create. We had an original tomato salad with fresh burrata. Just delicious. Tuna pate on Toast points. Smooth shells. Grilled Calamari. All were perfectly prepared and enjoyed by all. The patio has a very beautiful atmosphere and magnificent sea views. No white tablecloths here, but the terrace has an air of sophistication. Would definitely return to this place!

I won't be returning Will go back into St.Jean De Luz
Wé went for lunch at Ostalamer and were sitting on the outdoor terrace. it has a great view towards the ocean. I had read reviews of parking issues. The parking area may be limited to max 10-15 car, but there is a huge free car park just 50m up the road.for dinner we started off with chipirons with ink, which was quite unusual in the region (ink, that is) but still very tasty. Some of the best we've had during our vacation..As main course we chose the camarones. excellent! Well cooked and nice plate presentation.. just a bit awkward to peel off the prawns if you really have to find something. We were quite full by then and had no room for dessert so we selected the cafe gourmand (1 coffee with 1 fondant cake, 1 lemon tart and 1 crème brûlée, which we shared and both found them all excellent!Waitering was good overall and we were warming welcomed. We also wanted to try the "côte de boeuf" and will definitely do so next time.
