simple yet excellent kitchen, very pleasant shaded terrace, very quick and friendly service, the gusanillo is the restaurant to be tested in the village. it is possible not to book for food except in the middle of the season. View all feedback.
What Denis Pichon doesn't like about El Gusanillo:
We had to wait 1.5 hours with 4 small children. I had to ask for bread to keep the children calm. The pizza was ok at the end (some black edges though), but the starter for adults was served simultaneously with the main. The main thing was very bad (dry chicken, well-made beef-Iso medium) and when the cook asked if it was okay and we said it wasn't him running away. Maybe to compensate for some ice cream for the kids... View all feedback.
We fell by chance on this restaurant. We ate an excellent rust of seiches and very good pizzas cooked with wood fire for a very modest price (9,30 € the dish of the day). aperitif, a glass of pampl'ice very refreshing. the property has a shaded terrace. The service was quick.
On the market day without reservation a chance we found a table for 2. the dish of the day: incornets. Very good. despite the weakening the perfect service. very good value quality price and very pleasant frame
We were already warned by friends. Although this is an Italian restaurant, the pizzas can do better, a bottom with a lot of too much base cheese, and little ingredients. Lucky we didn't take it. The pizzas that were put on counterfeit tables just confirmed this. I had a doradefilet, and it was nice, and the pizzas were a pretty creative menu. The bad service. Our table was served by a rookie who said it was his first day and he didn't know much. Well, our friends had gone to dinner for three days, and then it was his first day too... Write things down and forget. Don't know any dishes. Forget ice cream in the ice bucket. In the end, I asked for a glass of cointreau as digestive. "Your vais demander mon chief, monsieur. countreau? C'est the I'alcool? I want to say that this restaurant is definitely in francs. Shame. This makes this restaurant for me the tourist stairs of Saint-Hypollyte...
The frame is very nice, the friendly servers. the menu is changed regularly and the wines are local, the plates are well presented. A real treat.
El gusanillo is a restaurant whose essential activity seems to be the sale of pizzas (on site or take away), but which tends to stand out from the simple pizzeria to offer other more qualitative (and more expensive) formulas. A special effort was made on visual identity. modern decor, spacious tables, beautiful shaded terrace, home uniformed servers. We feel right now in this place. The kitchen (excluding pizzas) is of quality, with many local products. the wine list is varied, highlighting the winemakers of the region using slates hanging on a terrace detailing with the characteristics of the different wines being honoured. the possibility of ordering most wines with glass is a significant asset. As for what we find in the plate, it's good and hearty. If we had to put a flat on these compliments, it would be on the map that seems to be little changing, some years, and especially some seasons. the seasonal product does not seem to enter the concept of this establishment. As a result, we quickly toured the various dishes offered and we can sometimes wonder about the freshness of some products offered all year round.
