Downtown Diner - Sackville

The food was good decent about 6/10, but the service was missing. Server seemed distracted and not very interested in our service.

Don't be fooled by the name. Under new ownership this is now a wonderful Japanese restaurant and Ramen House! You have to eat here. The spicy dumplings and Bento boxes are personal favorite. Another check mark for Sackville.

The downtown diner took advantage of me as an employee and has poor practices. I worked at the diner for 4 years before new owners bought it. He called me and asked me to work for him. I always worked the best I could, and trained a new employee he hired. After she did a couple training shifts, he called me and said he was giving away my shifts and would not give me a reason. I am not a disrespectful person and have never been fired from a job until this. Another note. When I started, I walked in the kitchen to water all over the floor, and a pot of sushi rice on the floor that they were using for rolls. I put it on the counter to avoid stepping over it, but they put it back on the floor. I had to step over it multiple times to do my job. If you support fair treatment of workers and food on counters not on floors, then you shouldn't eat at the downtown diner.

Downtown Diner is amazing Asian food and excellent service! Our experience was equally fantastic. Our server was friendly and attentive and spent a lot of time explaining our choices to us. So much delicious food and extremely wallet friendly! Highly recommend the Bento Box Can't wait to go again.

The new and improved Downtown Diner has amazing sushi and service! Look forward to having them as my go to restaurant!
