Last night, we decided to order from Roberto's Tacos fairly late. My wife had a strong craving for a bean and cheese burrito, and fortunately, Grubhub highlighted Roberto's as the top choice on the list. I opted for the amazing shredded beef tacos and three rolled beef taquitos with rice and beans. What Connie N doesn't like about Robertos Taco Shop:
Ordered the California burrito and pretty disappointed with how dry everything was. The meat was dry, the fries were dry, and there was no sauce or sour cream either. It was a convenient spot that was open late, but disappointed. View all feedback.
Roberto's has always been a go-to taco shop here in San Diego. They have definitely been dependable over the decades. I stopped in this location for a bacon and eggs breakfast burrito for $8 and some change. A great price, by the way. The burrito was good. It did need more scrambled eggs mixed into the mix. Also, they need to let the burrito sit on the hot griddle a few times to not only better toast up the flour tortilla but also to allow the cheese to melt inside the burrito. If you like bacon, the burrito did come with a lot of good bacon. The burrito also comes with fries, but I do not like fries in my burritos, so I axed them. I prefer regular potatoes. The red hot sauce was very good. They offer a good amount of inside seating, but it is a little dark inside. They offered a drive thru, and the service was good.
This location reminded me of the times I first started to eat at Roberto's back in the late 80's. It's in a sketchy part of town but the food was excellent!! Appreciated the customer service there. Only knock is they didn't have any carrots or jalapeños. The carne asada burrito, nachos and rolled tacos were made fresh. Definitely will be back.

In my opinion, this place deserves a solid 4-star rating. Moreover, I was pleasantly surprised by the prompt delivery of the food.

My favorite Robertos in San Diego. Reminds me of how they used to be. Love their taquitos, breakfast burritos and green sauce. The green sauce is so good I sip it before putting it on my burrito... hahaha Usually, adter i spend time at Mission Bay or Fiesta Island, I go here you should too! : Love the tribute to the founder of Robertos inside... the interior also feels original and old school Mexican San Diego legit from my day. I really like it here.
