If you're looking for the best ale, look no further than The G D. This excellent traditional English pub showcases the charm that many others in England have unfortunately lost. It's a real ale lover's paradise, boasting one of the finest cellars around. The Timothy Taylor Landlord is the best pint I've ever had here. But it’s not just about the beer—the location is fantastic, situated in one of our most picturesque... View all feedback.
What chrisbrodhurstrbrown doesn't like about George And Dragon:
We visited the George and Dragon in Wentworth for Sunday lunch and had a wonderful experience. Although we had to wait for an hour, we attributed it to the restaurant being fairly busy. View all feedback.
We recently dined again at the George Dragon, and once again, the food was excellent and the staff were friendly. I've read some of the latest reviews from others, and I’m perplexed by how their experiences differ from ours. This country pub is not one of those typical fast-food chain establishments; everything is cooked to order, so there may be a bit of a wait.
Compared to our past visits, both the food and service have declined. The service was painfully slow, despite the dining area not being full or particularly busy. Unfortunately, we also noticed that the quality of the food was not up to the standards we experienced on our previous visits.
Charming little pub with friendly staff always ready to assist. I will definitely return! Price per person: £50–60. Food: 5/5. Service: 5/5. Atmosphere: 5/5. Recommended dish: Hand Battered Fish. Parking: Ample parking available.
I had a wonderful experience at this pub, especially enjoying their Sunday lunch. It's unfortunate that they no longer offer the beef sandwich. Price per person: £20-30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We made a reservation for a table for six, along with one dog. The pub was quite busy on a Saturday afternoon, so I recommend parking in the village car park and walking up. The crowd was no surprise, as the food was absolutely fantastic. The service was not rushed at all, and our drinks were brought to our table upstairs. I ordered the porchetta, and now I’m eager to return to try more items from the menu. Food: 5, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 5.
